I hate the way the punishment system works (ign if you dont want to read a rant)

Note: Take it as a rant or not up to you. Gotta blow some steam off somewhere and since most people ignore this place (i dont mean riot i mean the player base) I will just write it down here.

I had a chat restriction of 10 games a while ago. I accepted because it was well deserved. I even wondered why it wasn't harsher tbh.

I played those 10 games. Unlocked my honor shortly afterwards and played a lot of games and tried to improve my behaviour which worked fine! I reached Honor level 1 checkpoint 1 (mind you I just dropped to Honor 1). A few days later (today) I got ONCE AGAIN a chat restriction. FOR ONE GAME.

I snapped in one game in which I called a teammate "son of a bitch" and told him to "stfu" a few times. He was flaming everyone and everything (especially me because I lost my lane.) I also asked if he was retarded. Yep that's harsh and is toxic as fuck. But honestly tho, this can't be triggering the system so badly. I clearly improved my behaviour and one game is enough to destroy that improvement. It was deserved but it annoys the shit out of me that every kind of improvement is so easy to nullify. It drains my motivation. I dropped to honor level 0 now. I don't care about season rewards I wouldn't get them anyway even if I wouldn't be punished today.

Riot you need to make improvements "clearer." Where are the "report cards" which were not really announced but talked about on the boards? How should I improve my behaviour if I can't write so much in the chat? I don't mind the restriction itself. But I hate how long I have to wait to write some messages. Especially when shit is going down, I NEED the chat to make calls. Especially when I jungle.

I don't believe it was for one game. The thing is, the system detects two things. Severity or consistency. It takes a number of flags from each legitimate reports in order to get a penalty. So that only means you've been consistently reported. Unless you hit a zero tolerance penalty. Which you did not. A way of knowing that is impossible unless you are aware of what you may have said that could deem offensive. Calling someone a "son of a bitch" and telling them to "stfu" could lead to a flag, but not a penalty.

Everyone has their own opinion on the system. I do not have any issues with it. Not saying it's perfect. No system is. I've always had my freedom of how I want to speak, but I speak however I am content or feeling. If I am angry, I don't speak at all. If I am feeling normal as my everyday self, I speak freely. With humor and positivity. I like encouraging my teammates. I know how it feels when peoples consistently point out errors or telling me I am doing poorly, I just don't engage with it.

I understand you had to vent. It's only natural.

Hmm yeah I agree one game is shotty if you are trying to be better to have issues but its because their system works so if you have even one game after a punishment you will be punished again but more severely or around the same level of punishment.

This resets with seasons albeit. So if I got a 2 week ban and got reported one more time, huge chance I get banned for longer or perma banned. If I don't get reported and it is a new season they will soft reset you and be like hmm maybe 5 more reported games within a month span. Tbh I don't know how strong the reset is just it's a small reset. Good luck mate!

Yeah, they have a stupid zero tolerance system for some words, one of which is "retarded". Don't ever say that, "%%%", "kys" or any racial epithets in any context for any reason in a game, you'll be punished immediately regardless of what you were actually saying.

It's a difficult position. Riot has to both make the system unable to be gamed, but also make it so you understand what you did wrong if you wish to reform... I doubt we'll see full report cards, but it is definitely an area they've acknowledged the need for improvement in.
