Not sure, but from personal experience, I don't think thr game mode generates honor or at least not as much. I have 70 games on my main, most were fun, lots of honoring,, but haven't climbed up at all. 70 ranked games usually gives at least a check point.
Game mode doesn't matter. However, getting honor from someone you queued with is slightly lower than from a random teamate. Since people seem to be more likely to play rotating modes like ARURF with friends, they're gaining less honor than solo ranked.
