Best way to enjoy League

Take a few days off from it.

Before we begin, this is not me advertising. This is suggesting. No titles other than league are even brought up here.

Between the toxic players, the champion balance (or what I'm almost convinced is a lack thereof), and the auto balance system, this game (along with probably any MOBA) is not a stress reliever. I mean nobody will want to come home from a long stressful day from work and just want to enjoy some fun gaming to have all of these features kick you while you're down. Your best bet? Take time off. If you want to relieve stress, you may be better off playing something less competitive, like an RPG. Maybe you, like Tristana used to, just wanna shoot something. Play a shooter. Maybe you don't even want to play a game at all. Maybe you want to roleplay as a league character. Check out the roleplay boards. Maybe you just need a vacation away from home. Go on one (God knows I need this). Point being, if you take time off away from the game, you may be able to enjoy it more.

Feel free to mention Overwatch and PUBG by name. No one's forcing anyone to play League of Legends exclusively!

I took a month off from it, started playing other games. I havent played any other game but League for at least 8 months. When I went to go play other games, I felt like I was missing out on so much. Then I got bored and came back to League lol.

for me personally the best way to remove myself from the toxicity and stress of league is to find a sizable group of friends i can play with regularly who enjoy just messing around as a 5 man. roleplaying, trolling each other, playing ridiculous off meta stuff, ultimate bravery, just taking the game less seriously and enjoying ourselves. its probably the most fun ive ever had playing league hands down, no game where ive played perfectly has ever beaten the sheer fun of playing assassin teemo while our full lethality sion mid charges their team solo because "im a noxian"

Haha, I took 6 months off of League, and what do I get the first game back?

Oh baby oh baby, you guessed it!

Waiting for another company to buy it? :P

I'd remove that role playing boards mention, those people.. are pretty hostile and exclusive. A few people conducted a sincere attempt to join in and were harshly chased off.

I tend to balance my league play with Overwatch, Heroes of the storm (I know it's a moba but its a different type), Hearthstone, Final Fantasy 14 and most recently Guild wars 2. It's really nice and relaxing and the balance between all those during my off time makes league a little bit more enjoyable for me til the ranked season ends. I made gold, and I'm not going to risk losing it and missing out of the rewards for the first time in 2 years because of toxic players! :D

Yes this ^

I took a month off after a extremely stressful amount of games (broke my old keyboard at the time) and when I came back, I loved playing the game. It was a fresh experience. Other games exist and you should not force yourself to play league. If you are having a bad time, just stop and play something else! It's THAT SIMPLE.

As a person of many video game tastes, I find this to be relatively true. I often tend to switch between playing League, Minecraft, Magic: The Gathering, so on and so forth in order to not get burnt out by whatever game I'm playing, so when I do rotate back into league I do manage to still have fun with it.

My other thing is that I play almost exclusively in Norms. I've never found reason to go into ranked since it just doesn't have a reward fitting for me. (lemme know when Victorious Karthus comes out aaight? :P ) I like actually having fun in my games if that's aaight with yall lol.

I constantly switch between League and HotS as my hobby games. They're both fun in different ways, and you're absolutely right. Taking some days off is great. I WILL use Riot's resources to advertise it not because I want a certain rival company to win out, but because I personally find both games more enjoyable thanks to eachother. They play differently, but are both MOBAs, and by playing HotS intermittently I come back with new ways to enjoy League and fresh perspectives every time.
