3rd Party Program bans

Recently there have been a fair amount of people coming to the boards for cheat program bans.

This is more of a reminder to the regulars to not immediately assume they are guilty.

From what I've seen, we're 3 for 3 (here, here and here have all been unbanned) recently when it comes to people coming to the board complaining about the ban.

In all three cases their account was compromised and all had their bans reversed once they talked to Riot support (they either admitted they got it resolved or they have played games since then).

So if you see someone confused about a 3rd party ban, ask them to check their match history and point them toward support. I don't know if there have been a recent data leak or if there's a new malware out there feeding a boosting service their accounts, but either way it's odd that there have been a lot of recent cases coming to the board about this.

Edit: I'm going to start throwing in other cases I spot since I feel like I'm linking to this thread a lot.

4 - KRapter231 (in this thread) has had their situation resolved and resumed playing games. 5 - Account recovered, admitted by OP. 6 - This person even had their name changed. They have since gotten their name changed back and continued playing. 7 - Another one where the OP came back to give the news. 8 - A lot of attention on this one. OP edited in "Resolved" in their post. 9 - Nyxae in this thread said they've had their issue resolved. 10 - OP came back with the news that they got their account back. Very fast response from Riot on this. 11 - Although wasn't as quick as the last one, OP still came back to state it was resolved. 12 - A commenter in #10 thread had their ban reversed. 13 - Came back after several years to discover they were banned. 14 - Another user in #10. They've started playing again since their post so I assume everything got resolved. 15 - Was a bit since I spotted another one. They came back and gave the update that the ban was reverted. 16 - Another long gap between sightings. OP started playing matches again since their thread. 17 - Another No-responder. But after a quick check at their match history they've populated it with some new games.

It's important to remember that a "permanent" suspension is often applied in circumstances that point to an account breach to prevent further problems. Once the breach is resolved, the ban can be lifted. We do it here on the Boards, as well.

This is probably some of the best advice you can give a person on the boards. It's one thing to view the cases with a bit of skepticism, but an entirely different, and unfair, matter to automatically assume all people are lying or trying to abuse the system.

I was banned a week ago for this and unbanned a few days later.

Yeah, not really sure why everyone is so dismissive when it comes to these cases. Scripters and geniune hackers really aren't that common.

In my experience (and I've been using the boards for quite a bit) I'd say maybe 70 to... 80%+ of them get resolved and the owner gets their account back. It's almost always due to a false flag or from them having their account compromised.

It looks like a banwave on hijacked accounts, in most cases the accounts have been stolen and used by scripters, as far as i can tell.

I just got perma banned again for no reason what so ever. I even went on the web and check my last match and it was correct. So no one has been playing my account and i have been perma banned twice in 1 month now. I literally have Steam, Microsoft Teams, and Greenshot running in my background. None of them do anything to league. This is ridiculous... Riot need to figure there **** out..
