I can't believe I have to say this, but it just happened last game on one of my smurf accounts.

It's not funny. You will be taken seriously. It doesn't matter what context it's in or that you're "anonymous by being online."

I gave an extra report to riot support and will be contacting the police in 48 ours if they don't respond or I get some automated response. (they said they were planning to do it next week.)

The vast majority of school shootings have warning signs or they tell people they are planning it beforehand.

**If you see this behavior in your games, "joke or not", immediately report them and send a ticket to player support. **

Fking. Unacceptable.

EDIT: Riot responded to the ticket and is obviously unable to share any further information. But I'm sure they will handle it from here.

Tbh, it's not acceptable. However it's no different than saying you're going to perform a lynching or kill someones mother. Which honestly happens all the time in League, and is surprisingly met with responses of "get thicker skin" as this game is the underbelly of the internet.

I don't take it anymore seriously than those threats, so while you're "calling the police" etc... I kind of snickered at your hypocrisy of other things that are said in this game that you wouldn't call the police for.

I think the difference between "I'm going to find you and shoot you" and "I'm going to shoot up this school" is the fact that they actually CAN shoot up any number of schools probably around them. Clearly, they have no idea where I live, so that in fact is an empty threat. There is absolutely nothing wrong in taking precautions against a claim like this on the off chance the person was serious.

You risk not doing anything and having plenty of people killed/hurt in the process just because "it's online it was probably just a joke."
