Player Threatening me in private chat

So to abide by the rules here i will not reveal any names of players I played with or their characters to preserve anonymity, I just played a Nexus Blitz game where I played with a certain toxic player, which my entire team was getting irritated from, he fed, he had no contribution to the kills, so I muted him and reported him in the post game chat, while he was saying that he will never get banned because he is high elo and the game is dependent on people like him (i know, wth?). So he adds me, and usually i dont accept toxic requests, but I had positive experiences of cooling some people down and telling them it is just a game and some became in game friends, but this guy was actually threatening me. I took screen shots of what he sent me, but he basically said he can hack my IP, he said he can find where I live, and then he pretended to predict where I live (he said America) and I told you no you are wrong, so he said oh you are a foreigner then? and he started using racial slurs and other derrogatory terms to insult me, so i just blocked him. My question is, i reported him for his behaviour in the game, but how can I report him and attach the message evidence to show riot how he was threatening me? I dont feel safe playing around people like him and I just want to make sure he gets punished. Thank you [sg-zephyr]

When someone has decided to be toxic, they’ll generally take whatever information they can about you and run with it.

Riot typically doesn’t punish for private messages like that, since they are an opt-in experience.

I don't quite understand what you mean by saying "opt-in". Are you saying that since he decided to accept his friend request, he was asking for himself to be flamed?

Meaning you have to give them permission to message you and are free to revoke this privilege at any time with no penalty to yourself

Pretty much yeah. If you accept the friend request from the guy who was flaming you last match you really are asking to be flamed.

I'd think they'd make exceptions for threats, though it doesn't sound like the threat in this case was specific enough.

I’m sure there are instances where they do take action. I think those are for extreme circumstances. Or odd circumstances.

Even if you send a support ticket Riot probably won’t do anything. What happens outside of the actual ingame chat is not their responsibility so best thing you can do is just keep that player blocked and hope he’ll get punished one day. Speaking from multiple experiences here. Oh and don’t worry about what he said, he most likely already forgot about you ;)

This is false. I have had multiple instances where Riot has taken care of players outside of gameplay (in my case, scamming). I highly encourage you to still send in a support ticket anyway if the toxicity was extreme.

Oh that’s cool then! I had death threats and what not ignored by the support when they told me they won’t be able to do anything. Good to hear that I was wrong there.

i would submit a support ticket explaining everything include the screen shots. they might not do anything but they might but it is best for them to know this player is around.

top left corner where it says explore league hover your mouse it will drop a menu and go to support and follow from there

It wouldn't hurt to make a support ticket and attach the relevant screenshots, details, etc. However, as mentioned above, they don't tend to act on PMs. Just a note on what he was saying, no he isn't going to get your IP or hack you through the client. I know you've had some positive experiences "talking people down", but in the future you may want to skip the PMs from ragers and maybe make friends with the other three enjoyable teammates.
