Why Is Riot So Sensitive On Flaming.

Personaly, though i agree that flaming is an immature behaviour i also believe that it is an unavoidable aspect of the game, the game requires you to communicate with your team so its only natural that in a moment of frustration someone may act inapropriately. Personaly i dont mind having a flamer in my team as long as it doesnt affect his gameplay,i dont mind being flamed for a mistake i made,i only mind having a teamate afk in base to harras me in consecutive messages. All in all,i dont believe that flaming requires this much attention and it has come to the point where players just get restricted and have to miss a lot of the aspects of the game for realy minimal reasons.

Because "flaming" isn't a part of the game. There is no reason to be toxic towards anyone in the game, it just makes others play worse or have a bad time.

If I made a mistake I definitely wouldn't want my teammates to yell at me and call me names. Not exactly encouraging, you know what I mean? So why would I want to do the same.

There is no benefit to flaming players or acting toxic, therefore it should be handled appropriately. If there was no standard for how players should act towards each other, then the social environment in the game would turn into a jungle gym of shit-flinging Wukongs with no sense of common decency.

We all make mistakes, hence why if you're having a bad day you don't get punished. The system doesn't punish one-time offenders. It goes after the ones who frequently act toxic in every game they play. If they don't change, it continues to increase the level of punishment until that player is permanently banned.

It wont punish you if you have a bad day and say "You dumb idiot" in the chat. It happens, we all get that.

But keep in mind that teammates wont want to help if a player is insulting them or flaming. That's not players or Riot being sensitive, it's just a very normal response towards demeaning and toxic attitudes. No one likes being around those people, so why do you think players would tolerate online? :P

Why is it "unavoidable aspect of the game"? Its completely avoidable. Just dont. Thats it. Flaming is choice.

Getting frustrated is fine; no one can fault you for that. But when it's acted upon it becomes everyone's problem. It's up to each individual to control their actions and find a better outlet for their emotions than flaming others.

Also, it's not really Riot being sensitive. It's us players; these punishments wouldn't be handed out if we weren't annoyed enough to report the behavior in the first place.

Flaming someone lowers the skill level of everyone in earshot

The game does require communication, however flaming isn't going to win you a game. Plus proper pinging is all the communication you actually need to successfully play league of legends. Otherwise make pre-mades and use Vcomm and flame away at each other.

I had seen another thread that mentioned the possibility of just giving permanent chat bans instead of actual perma account bans. Which would drastically reduce repeat abusive behavior. If you're perma chat banned, you're not going to make a new account just so you can have the ability to talk crap.

i just hope the downvotes are either riot bots or inexperienced players, because i refuse to accept that people would rather have a troller than a flamer in their team. This is the first game i have ever played where trolling is so much promoted by the community.

It affects beginners more than anyone else and can deter them from playing the game any further. It's common for a new player going into a pvp game for the first time to be flamed beyond belief by everyone on their team, usually cause most of them are smurfs.
