My side of the story.

Currently, there is a post on the front page of Player Behavior where a player testifies he was suspended for two weeks, which turned into a perma-ban. I am currently suspended for two weeks as well, and am hoping to present my side in hopes it doesn't also escalate to a perma-ban. Below is the un-edited logs. The context is self-apparent, but to make it easy, I'm playing MF bot lane in Plat 1 (~65lp). Vel'koz support has been flaming for a while (which I initially ignored), so he escalated into using his waveclear to steal entire waves from me. The team appears to be on my side, except for the Zed mid, who also begins to do. . . interesting things, like splitting top while 5 enemies are pushing mid. Oh, and Deviljho is a monster in Monster Hunter known for it's unbridled rage. That's relevant. . .

There is only 1 game on the ticket. I have been reported before, I believe I got a two week suspension 9 months ago for similar issues. I'm using bold for commentary. Please enjoy my whining.

> Game 1 > Pre-Game > Chibi Ðeviljho: no u. ** The context here is that someone's name was, "urdadlesbian" or something like that. **

In-Game Chibi Ðeviljho: You got it, my flea-bitten friend. Chibi Ðeviljho: Ooo- good boy Chibi Ðeviljho: Yup Chibi Ðeviljho: NO WAY that hit me Chibi Ðeviljho: That hitbox was miiiiles away Chibi Ðeviljho: Just uh Chibi Ðeviljho: camp bot until the tower goes down Chibi Ðeviljho: should only take one gank

Our jungle was ignoring bot because we were losing, which is fair. I didn't expect help, however I know MF takes towers fast. If we could regain lain control for a brief amount of time, we could take tower and get out of the lane we were losing. Either way, I was hoping for help, not expecting it. Despite not receiving help, you'll see I've never flamed our jungle.

Chibi Ðeviljho: Muting your pings Chibi Ðeviljho: Quit trolling vel Chibi Ðeviljho: Ww I'm serious man just come bot Chibi Ðeviljho: I promise you we win Chibi Ðeviljho: why are you like this vel Chibi Ðeviljho: He's taking my farm. Chibi Ðeviljho: Look vel Chibi Ðeviljho: You're gonna get reported Chibi Ðeviljho: And I'm gonna carry you anyway Chibi Ðeviljho: so cry a river Chibi Ðeviljho: then stfu.

As you can infer, ignoring Vel's flame was only enticing him to escalate. He began using his waveclear to steal multiple waves of farm. Despite that, I don't want this to devolve into a flame war. I'm clearly getting irritated, so after I tell him to "stfu" I don't say anything for a while. Please notice, I'm still game-oriented. I am still trying my best to win this game, as indicated by my word choice.

Chibi Ðeviljho: Use that Chibi Ðeviljho: I'm mf Chibi Ðeviljho: I can't ward safely whenever I want Chibi Ðeviljho: look this isn't working Chibi Ðeviljho: just gonna mute the team.

Zed was complaining I wasn't warding. In retrospect, I should have swapped to scrying orb, but that's irrelevant. The general atmosphere of the team was getting pretty toxic. I understand the usual advise is to not say that I'm muting the team, however considering most of the toxicity was directed towards myself, I hoped they would play instead of type if they knew I couldn't see what they were saying .

Chibi Ðeviljho: Zed defend yoru tower you ape Chibi Ðeviljho: Would have crushed this game so hard Chibi Ðeviljho: If all of you didn't do literally everything in your power to make that as hard as possible. Chibi Ðeviljho: Disgusting community.

**Zed went top and let the enemy team end the game. I don't feel as though "ape" was particularly offensive given the scope of the chat and that he was actively assisting the enemy team. **

That concludes the in-game chat. I hope it's noted I did not say very much; I, for the most part, only type when my screen is grey, and remained focused through most of the game.

>Alright, now for the juicy bits. The cherry on top. The lime in the coconut. The pièce de résistance! For context, and this is a "oof" moment, I did not know Riot cared about post-game chat. It was my honest-to-Morgan-Freeman belief that they only punished you if you were toxic in game. I hope one can appreciate the level of self-censorship required to filter the below log to look like the above like. My inner rage, filtered through 100% organic, sustainable filters so that you, the viewer at home, can enjoy "Hint of Deviljho" with your morning breakfast. Please enjoy.

Post-Game Chibi Ðeviljho: Learn english.

After getting roasted for a solid minute, I said this because my roaster, "tudps liek this"

Chibi Ðeviljho: You actively denied as much cs as you could Chibi Ðeviljho: then said I suck. Chibi Ðeviljho: Do you not realize how self-fulfilling that is? Chibi Ðeviljho: You're trash Chibi Ðeviljho: It's like you're not even listening. Chibi Ðeviljho: YOU Chibi Ðeviljho: TOOK Chibi Ðeviljho: MY Chibi Ðeviljho: FARM Chibi Ðeviljho: INTENTIONALLY Chibi Ðeviljho: And then bitched that my damage was low. Chibi Ðeviljho: Seriously this commuynity. Chibi Ðeviljho: Lol

Take a seat

Chibi Ðeviljho: Blow your brains out Fxxxxt.

This term is being used as a generic insult, not a discriminatory comment. The person it was directed towards had not referenced his sexuality so I hope this point is self apparent. I know that some of you will say, "It doesn't matter what the context was, it's almost discriminatory!", and you're allowed to have that opinion, but please remember I wasn't aware I needed to censor myself in the post game lobby, so I didn't particularly care what this far-from-a-victim individual perceived it.

Chibi Ðeviljho: Reported. Chibi Ðeviljho: Nope, got here by being far better than you. Chibi Ðeviljho: Fucking retard doesn't even know how reports work. I wish it were halarious.

As it turns out, I was the one who didn't know how reports work. The more ya know. :)

Chibi Ðeviljho: Are you capable of making a coherent point? Chibi Ðeviljho: I take that as a no. Chibi Ðeviljho: Typical league scum. Chibi Ðeviljho: What did you do all game? Chibi Ðeviljho: ANything?

Despite my single, dismissive outburst, as apparent here, I was still capable and willing to have a civil conversation. I genuinely wanted him to stop spamming me with "lol so bad, garbage, I'm gonna get you banned lol" so that we could have a genuine conversation. I can take criticism. If he had said, "You get harassed way to much in lane and you can't farm to save your life", I'd have said fair enough. But this man's arguments were made for no other reason than to illicit an emotional response. And yeah, I fell for it by saying that one, particular line.

Anyway, humor aside, I get it. I got baited into saying a dirty phrase and now I gotta deal with the two week suspension. I'm honestly just thankful it's not a permanent suspension, and that's why I'm making the post. (Sorry it's so long.) Considering I actually went to bed after this game, got back on the next morning, played another game without incident, and THEN was suspended, I assume a support ticket was filed. To whomever decided to suspend me, Thank you for choosing to suspend me for two weeks instead of indefinitely. I understand Riot's zero-tolerance policy (however prior to this incident I had no idea it applied to post-game chat) and appreciate the understanding. I assume my resilience in-game was a factor in this decision and hope it will continue to be one, as I truly do not believe I am a threat to the friendly Rift Riot is trying to create. I now know that Riot cares about post game chat as well, and will continue to bring you "Hint of Deviljho" (Filtered rage) even in post game chat (Now with 10% more per bottle!).

Thank-you for reading this post. Please comment below so I have something to do as my schedule is pretty clean for the next two weeks :)

Listen dude I got through most of the log thinking you were fine. And honestly if it wasn't for one particular line, I think you would not have been punished.

You told someone to blow their brains out, used a term that is considered to be derogatory towards homosexuals, and called the person "fucking retarded."

Now I get that you tried really hard to keep your cool. I get that you didn't do this until the end. And I understand that you didn't mean it in the offensive way. But the problem (for me at least) is that you called someone these things while angry. When you put these things together, things like encouraging self harm, derogatory language for homosexuals and mentally disabled people, all while talking angrily at someone you're upset with is that you create this association that being homosexual and/or being mentally disabled are bad.

If anything it should concern you that you already associate these things as being bad, because it's either a bad habit or it's a genuine belief that's lurking in your subconscious. You're not actively a bad person, and you aren't trying to do wrong, but if you go into situations with the habit of associating these things, then you can wind up making people who are part of those groups feel terribly unwelcome playing this game.

I completely understand getting frustrated with people from your games, especially when they antagonize you for an entire game. But responding to them, even with things like "don't take my farm" when they have done that, will only feed their behavior. They see it as a win, that they were able to make you upset over your farm being taken, so they will try to do it more and more, because it worked. That's what they wanted to do.

This is why you should always mute and ignore people who troll you in-game, and you shouldn't even acknowledge their gameplay behaviors done to try to irritate you. You can report them after the game, and in the meantime saying something to them will only make things worse.

I'm sorry you got banned, and nobody (you included) deserves to be trolled in a game they play for fun, but there's no avoiding a ban when you cross the lines you crossed. If you'd like to learn more tricks for dealing with teammates I can talk about it some more, but I won't waste your time if you're not interested in the subject. In case this is the end of our conversation, I just want to say - hang in there, learn from your mistakes, and better luck next time.

To be more detailed, there is a mantra. 'Mute, Report, and move on'. You should have done that. Mute them. Report after the game. Move on and don't engage.

Hate speech is not a generic insult. If you wanted to use a generic insult, you should've used one. There is also zero tolerance for the use of hate speech in League - regardless of reason.

Generally speaking though everyone gets at least one chance - a 14 day ban - before perma. The only exceptions are those so extremely toxic that they don't deserve another chance.

The one line that you told someone to kill themselves in a very graphic manner is completely unacceptable. I see that kind of talk in league all the time and really it brings the community down. I get it I have lost my temper and said things I regret both in league and in life. For what its worth I hope you do not get a perma ban but i hope you learn from this and legitimately try to be more positive in the future. The Leauge community gets such a bad rap and so many of us forget the point of league is to have fun.
