Does League not have the technology to see the cause of your disconnection?

I have a pretty bad computer. I'll admit that off the bat. I used to have a better graphics card, but that one eventually hit the fan after constantly crashing and causing me to reset mid game. Now I have my older GPU which will often freeze my entire computer until I hard reset, though less common than my previous gpu. It just feels out of my control sometimes and even if I get back as soon as physically possible and return to playing, I'll still lose my game rewards and get a low priority queue timer.

Feels like they should have a way to detect the cause of the disconnection as I have multiple friends who will experience long periods of AFK due to internet issues (New Mexico internet sucks). Punish those who rage quit, not force us to rage because our computer crashed once and now we cant play League again for 10 minutes.

It's actually not really possible: if data stops getting through, all League can possibly know is that data stopped. There's no way for them to know how or where, as there just ISN'T any data coming through.

Additionally, whether intentional or accidental, you still left 4 teammates in a bad game. You'll never get BANNED for it (LeaverBuster is just time penalties), but the effect is the same whether intentional or not.

Lol I feel ya on that DC and rage quit are two different things you'd think they'd figure that out by now
