Why is champion select trolling still a thing?

Its pretty simple, because riot won't implement vote kick or even a report system that allows you to report players in champ select for doing ridiculously toxic things. I had a zed in my last game, that 3 times in a row said "Im mid" and instalocked a champion, it didn't matter whether or not mid was called or not, he did it. He forced 3 people to dodge (i was on his team in champ select 3 times in a row unforutnately) and the third game he instalocked zed, simply because that was the champion that i picked the previous champion select, before he forced a person to dodge. He went mid, fed of course (its not like these people could at least carry you after instalocking) we eventually won the game because the enemy team had an afk rengar (whom i reported for negative attitude and afk afterwards) and that was it. I also reported him, however nothing will be done, want to know why? Because he acted perfectly normal in the game, which means that nothing is going to happen to him. Which means that he can continue to troll and champ select, get what he wants, force people to dodge, and then go in game and act perfectly fine like nothing happened, and continue to be an extremely toxic player just without punishment. We all wanted votekick really bad a while ago. Why are we letting riot get away with not implementing this, keep giving them shit, until they get it done, because this is absolutely unacceptable. Also, a big negative I've heard is "4 man can just kick u for not going where you want them to go" But honestly ask yourself this, first off, if they kick you for that you wouldn't want to play with them anyways, and second, imo getting rid of EVERY CHAMPION SELECT TROLL EVER FOR ALL TIME is worth this. Also another argument is if you are playing an off meta champ your team can kick you, I'm going to use the same argument for the last one, which is if they are gonna kick you for that, you won't want to play with them anyways. UPDATE: Guess what, Just got into another game, another champs select troll , guess which champ, thats right, fucking zed, im actually done.

No vote kick will come for obvious abuse reasons. The new queue will eventually be here which will likely reduce these kinds of issues, wait for that and see how things go.

how will it, guy wants to troll that game, nothing can be done about it. champ select trolls will still almost certainly be a thing, just not in ranked, this was in blind.

  • Guy picks off-meta champion, team "votes to kick him" because they don't think he should be allowed to do that
  • Player from previous game had a bad game, someone in the next game sees him and tells the lobby that he sucks and should be kicked. Team agrees and votes to kick him.
  • An "OP" champion didn't get banned from the game, and the opposing team picks it. Your team agrees to kick somebody from the lobby so the game can be re-made.

It will just be an endless cycle of someone getting kicked from the lobby, and the game gets re-made just to have someone get kicked again because somebody doesn't like the team comp, or a champion picked, or someone's user name etc..

It's a long list of possible abuse I'm sure you get the idea. Your best option in these scenarios right now is to simply report the person who trolled and move on.

They are able to look at pre-game chat, in-game chat and post-game chat so if this is a common occurrence they can certainly be punished for it.

Actually, they can't look at pre game and post game chat, which is a big issue.

That isn't true. They've always had access to lobby chat.

The myth that it isn't recorded came from Tribunal voting because lobby chat wasn't presented to them even though it still existed. (the reason being that most people toxic in lobby are toxic in-game too)

You see, they wont introduce it cause of ignorant people like you. You want to kick people that arent breaking any rule. Everyone is allowed to pick any champion they want and go wherever they want. Meta is not rule. Champion select cannot be trolled, as nothing that you clasify as "troll" is against rules. Thats your problem, you think every game has troll in champion select, but they are actually just breaking rules that exist in your head.

How so?

Someone calls mid and instalocks. You initiate a vote to kick him. I vote no. Vote fails. What now?

The problem here is that not everyone has the same idea of what should happen in champ select. SOME people think everyone can do whatever they want. SOME people think you should not be able to take a lane if someone else takes it first. SOME people think that you must play an appropriate champion for your lane. SOME people think that you must play a champion who is popular/powerful in the current meta. SOME people think that being duo queue gives you priority over everyone else.

When multiple types of people join the same champion select, it creates tension but that tension can be overcome through communication and compromise. Do you really want people to use votekick as their primary solution for dealing with people who play the game differently than they do? Should we really encourage people to expect that everyone in champ select with them has to feel the same way that they do?

People like me will probably get kicked a lot because we want to play Yorick Nasus Volibear Udyr Trundle MonkeyKing Warwick None of em are meta, but they can counter a lot of meta champs

Korillo's right about how abusable it is. I get it, you're salty you got some trolls, we all get em. So just report them and watch em get banned. No need to punish us who pick non-meta champs

I doubt a non 4 man will kick someone for picking an off meta champ, it doesn't seem likely unless ur talking yorik solo bot or something like that lol. Im not even saying that there should be a votekick system, just some way to punish players for trolling in champ select.

We aren't friends. So ask me how I know that your last game was a 1.89KDA Jax. Before that was a 1.5KDA Morde. The one before that was a 1.67KDA Nasus. Then you had a streak of playing some poro king games...

Sorry, didn't see the ranked portion of your comment. Your last ranked game was with Xin. Then Vlad. You won them both (goodjob!), even though you got carried the Vlad game. Your previous 2 games didn't go so well Mr. 1-9 twitch :/

In any case, well fine you see I suck at ADC and am much better at top and jungle, woo, now you know to not throw me bot lane, yay now if I see you I don't have to beg to not be ADC

shrug can't say I particularly care about that, although you're probably the first person I've debated with you bothered using a 3rd party site rather than pulling some stupid move like checking through the main site before you decided to derail me

Nope, I used op.gg (there are a million sites for doing these things). I'm glad you're referring to using 1 single reference tool, but don't assume that every person is using the same one as you and that it's the only one you can use.

I have yet to see someone forced to play ADC that doesn't want it. 97% of the time (yes, made up.) the only role people are forced to play is support. Which will be changing soon with the new que (that I dislike for many reasons, but that's a different argument). That, however, wasn't even the point of what we were talking about. We were talking about me being able to see that the guy who just picked Yorik is 1-15 with the champ and averages going 1.3-16.2-2.1. That way, I know that I should just take the dodging time penalty and not put myself through a troll that clearly isn't going to be punished. Or, in the case of the suggested kicking, kick the troll. If the Yorik has a decent win% and his KDA shows he is at least trying to play the game with more intelligence than a business major, you don't kick him.

Stupid move? You can't call me a stupid move for proving you wrong when YOU took the time to try and call me out on something that you have no clue about. Business majors do that. Don't be a business major. We already have enough of them running Faux News. I also highly doubt I'm the first person you've come across using 3rd party sites. There are a ton of them because of their popularity. Also, even if I haven't used a third party site, your original statement is still wrong. You said that if you aren't friends with someone, you can't see their ranked history. The only history you can see is their ranked games.

Please refrain from posting things that you don't have the slightest idea about in the future :)
