My issue with the Behavior System and Customer Support

The League of Legends behavior system goes as follows: 10 day chat restriction, 25 day chat restriction, 14 day suspension, then permanent suspension. Tiers can be skipped as a result of extreme cases of hate speech.

I have been playing League of Legends for more than three months and in that time only had one offense on my account. Riot Games claims that I have had multiple actions taken against my account when that is a lie. I have had only one offense on my account that completely skipped the 10 day restriction and went to a 25 day chat restriction. Now they are saying that I was excessively harassing people in multiple games when they only gave me one game showing any kind of negativity. One game is not enough to warrant a suspension. Especially when suspensions are usually a result of racist or homophobic hate speech or death threats, none of which ever happened in any game.

I have tried multiple times to resolve the issue but they continuously send me automated messages or they dodge the issue entirely saying the support ticket is closed. The last message I received from riot games was,

"Hello, Ultimately, it is your choice to recognize that this behavior isn't okay in League of Legends and contrary towards promoting positive sportsmanship. As the situation has been explained, we'll be considering this closed. Best, Rising Blade Player Behavior and Game */"

This was the message before the previous one,

"Rising Blade (Riot Games Player Support) Jun 9, 09:26 PDT Hi there, Your account already received restrictions, and the next step on the path was this suspension. This information is provided in the article previously linked. The reform cards provide the severity of the case and that further occurrences will continue to climb the escalation path. As this account has been reviewed, we will be considering the case closed. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Best, Rising Blade Player Behavior and Game **/"

This is blatant lie coming from Riot games. I have had ONE restriction. The problem here is that first, they are lying about how many restrictions I had and apparently skipped me straight to a 14 day suspension. Second, they suspended my account with only one game of chat logs which is not enough to warrant a suspension. Especially when there was nothing racist, homophobic, or any death threats.

Can someone help me with what my options are in this situation? I am not going to stop fighting this but I want to know what all my options are at this point.

This is not true. You had a 10-game, a 25-game and a 14-day ban.

Can someone help me with what my options are in this situation?

I can post the chat logs from there if you'd like, or you can request them from player support.

Im just curious to know how a senior software developer courts the ladies with a conversation about the fact they moderate riot's forums for a living and ban people for being toxic in a country which revolves around freedom of speech.

Valuable tips from this fellow., he is a very successful hard working individual with lots of experience to learn from ;)

Regardlesss, your question is highly inappropriate and still seems like you were trying to insult him, simply judging from your other posts.

If you weren't trying to insult him, maybe you should learn what is or isn't appropriate. Asking a complete stranger online while he is working about his personal life is inappropriate and insulting.

He doesn't moderate the forums, he makes the automated moderating system for the game work. The forum has a different set of people being actual classic mods.

Freedom of speech=/=not being considerate to others. Anyone has that freedom until they infringe on someone else's. That's actually how that law works; it's not a law that says you can ignore other people's lives and treat them however you want. Put bluntly, it's not a hall pass.

When was the 10 day chat restriction? I looked through my email and have no email of a 10 day restriction and I never remember having a 10 day restriction.

Riot is judge jury and executioner. Not much you can do, and whether they accidently sent the wrong info to you or not nothing is going to change.

Ad for the "playing three months with only one punishment"there's a substantial amount of players who have played years with zero punishment.

Hmm. Sometimes they only send 1 log in email due to size limits, but then have 3 in the client notice. Would you be willing to share the log you have? I'd be curious as to how severe it is. Also, how long ago did the 25-game restriction complete?

The 25 game restriction was over 2 months ago and here is the chat log. I realize that I was very negative during this game but nothing that should have jumped me straight to a 2 week suspension. especially from only one game.

Okay, I hope this is stating the obvious, but you're consistently negative towards your team here. It's this attitude that resulted in the punishment. As to why a 14-day ban, it's because your last punishment was a 25-game restriction, and you must not have shown sufficient signs of reform since then to drop down a punishment tier.

Now, I cannot speak to whether or not you had ever received a 10-game restriction on this account. That assertion is your word vs. Riot's and I'm really in no place to make a call there. As for only having 1 log, I'm not sure why. Is this log a display of toxic behavior? Yes. If you were to do this frequently, I'd certainly say it's worthy of a punishment. All I can say is that with something like this it generally takes more games into account than shown in the provided logs (even when you do receive 3 logs). Why you didn't get 3 logs, again, I don't know for sure.

However, something stands out heavily from this log, and adds to an unconfirmed suspicion I've had for a while. You're talking like a smurf, plain and simple. You say you've been playing for 3 months. Your account just reached level 20. But the way you talk about the game doesn't sound at all like a true new player. New players don't complain about 'Pre-30 scrubs'. They don't expect thorough warding and strong use of pings (or much communication at all).

On that note, I've suspected that Riot might be a bit more harsh on new accounts, especially ones detected as smurfs. It doesn't take many games for them to know when a new account belongs to an experienced player. And they could potentially use this to try to catch smurfs of previously-permabanned players, and might possibly punish those quicker than usual. Of course, this has never been confirmed by Riot (and probably never will be).

You had a 25 game chat restrict so the next tier is 14 day suspension. Death threats and using homophobic slurs are not the only way to get suspended. You have no options, player support has already confirmed that the suspension is due to your toxic behavior and not because of a clerical error.

I was trash talking the other jungler in fun and he was doing it right back. It was just stupid things like "i took your gromp" or "im coming for your ass." Like I said just stupid stuff. Only reason I can think of that i got that restriction was that the other team was annoyed with too much all chat.

The jump from 10-25 chat restriction isn't that big. For all you know it's probably because you were toxic in a lot of games but not as severe to warrant a 14 day ban.

Yes, Riot games is stupid, their tribunal is run by 3rd class uneducated workers. Their servers are bad. Everyone knows this. The other people who are on here trying to tell you otherwise are unsuccessful addicts in this game.

Your best option is to ignore riot, either quit the game, or just dont use chat at all.

I started league around christmas. I thought it was like COD so I would have fun trash talking everyone, after getting a few chat restrictions and bans,I made a new account. I was less toxic on it and just asked people not to feed. got a 10 day chat restriction for saying noooob ahahahahahah, and stop feeding yo. When I emailed support they told me that was considered harassing team members.

Personally I questioned if it was worth playing a game where players are so sensitive that they act like a 3 year old in their "Safe spaces" and cant tolerate noob. Anyway, took it as a lesson, riots tribunal is stupid, I dont use chat anymore. Havent had a problem since.

If someone pisses you off during game, mute them, add them, trash talk them in private chat, then do a happy dance that the kid cant do anything about it

If the tribunal support is annoying you in emails, same thing, they cant do anything about it.

So I realized it wasnt like cod and I just stopped chatting. Problem with this game is: There are ASSHOLES on here who purposely try to tilt you and they know every technique to get through the chat filter and get people talking. I realized this probably a month after being level 30. Its pretty sad there was a jerk on here trying to tilt someone on the fricken forums, and report them.

Its unfortunate people find that entertainment.

Yep...early season 1 here. Most I've gotten was the 'You agree going AFK is bad, RIHGT?!' thing.... And that was because my router reset at bad timing and my team gave up..

But yeah, any punishment at all in 3 months is a bad sign for your long term interactions in a PvP environment... Game can get stressful and if you have a tendency to throw that stress back out into the game, it's just going to build up till you're perma-banned.

Find other ways to vent or don't play League till you can handle the stress/not get stressed by it.

The chat logs they send are just an example, it isn't a comprehensive list of your offenses. People get 1-3 chat logs no matter how many games their punishment was related too(which is often more than 3).

Suspensions are also not "usually the result of racist or homophobic hate speech, death threats". Those things do result in suspensions, but just as many if not more suspensions are for generic toxicity. Severity if punishment is very often a result of frequent mild behavior rather than just severe incidents.
