So i got into a flex game and some dude was Plat 1 or Diamond. At first i thought we were playing with a pro here so when we played he started flaming for no reason and he fed my top lane and blamed me i wasnt helping. I pinged so much but he dosent listen just goes in for a gank after multiple pings. He acted like a bronze player and i thought higher ranked players are supposed to be role models and teach low ranks like gold to be better and to not flame. Im pretty shocked someone like him managed to even be in that ELO. I dont plan to write a support ticket i just reported him i guess he was just having a bad game or bought his account who knows.

No.

Neither are celebrities or athletes.

Rolemodels are a little something called 'parents.' There can be heroes or people who you think really help you solidify your values or outlook on life, but the basic model for how you should act in society is primary your same-sex parent and secondarily your opposite-sex parent.

It's not some random Diamond's job to be a rolemodel. It's not even Faker's job to be a rolemodel. The minute you allow for this is the minute you now have the justification to beat any given person over the head with the bat of a moral busybody for any number of reasons with the fig-leaf of "you're a rolemodel."

Nah, they are supposed to be entirely full of themselves, that way they can sit on thier high horse and tell you how trash you are. At least thats my understanding of how high rank players behave.

Higher ranked players are to be role models for one thing: good gameplay.

Adults do not need role models for behavior unless they're in or formerly in the correctional system, have specified behavioral disorders or are tyler1 (who may or may not fall into previous categories). Kids have designated role models for behavior specifically: teachers, parents, police, etc.

Higher ranked players are not the parents of League, esp as some of them are minors themselves.

If there are behavior role models in league, it would be moderators and those with teamwork ribbons and the like. But again, this is not rank-based nor is it necessary for adults. Everyone else is just players of varying levels of skill at the game. And yeah, faker being a shit is just faker being a shit :P
