Oh, well, ok. If I knew that was an acceptable reason to dodge, I would have done it a thousand times already.
Edit: it may also be worth noting that I got 2 honors that match. Interesting, if I'm the problem.

though the point that many players would rather have longer queue times in ranked than play with an off-role is something that many have brought up and riot has shown to not care.
afmghost1 votesExactly. I think it's getting past the point of being ridiculous. I mean I frequently will enter a lobby and have some person expect someone else to dodge because something isn't going their way. So I'm like, look, fucker: if you want to dodge the game yourself, fine. Don't expect ME to cater you and dodge just because you don't like something. I know betting backfilled a role is stressful, but it's a necessary evil to prevent wait times that could last hours. Besides, if I am forced to support a friendly team, I won't care. I do care when they lash out at me and say that I should have dodged.

Partholonian1 votesI'm pretty sure neither of those players is acceptable, even before the dodging issue comes up. The first one is being toxic to his teammate and the second one is using autofill as an excuse for not knowing what he's doing (when anyone queueing in any mode other than full 5 man should know that they may have to play multiple roles).
afmghost1 votesHonestly, it is the excuse I used because the actual reason would be ignored. I have had a hell of a week (my dad got arrested), and I just came home from a hard day's work and just want to unwind with some League. Nobody seems to care if you're just having a bad game, so I started with the auto fill excuse. And no, this was not a ranked match. If it was, I would understand the frustration perfectly.

Yeah, in normals you can try to play the role, obviously, you just can't troll pick. I might not have been clear on my opinion on that. Sure, try the new role, expand your horizons. Obviously.

Support mains are not inherently common, but it's not exactly a role that comes without glory and value. I think a lot of people forget that and just assign Supports as the proverbial punching bags of the team. Do you have any supports that you're comfortable with on the off-chance you do wind up auto-filled again? Sona and Soraka are incredibly easy even for other lane mains, and can easily be played passive to ensure viability in lane.

I do play many support characters. In fact, I am an M6 Lulu, and I'm two S grades away from M7. I appreciate the advice though. I do remember when I HAD to leave when my mom was about to pick up my dad (see above). I was a Brand support, had won lane with my carry, and have started racking up kills. My own team was saying that I was some kind of god. Of course, I told them the bad news and had to leave. I left the computer running and didn't disconnect just in case the game would end before my five minutes were up. I come home to see that I was the most honorable player. It was either for the reason I had to leave or it was my performance. Point being, I do know how to support. Again, I do appreciate the advice.
