Does apologizing matter?
Let's consider "mild" chat offenses only. For example:
Player A: "OMG you are so dumb" Player A: "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I was caught up in the heat of the moment."

I mean, yeah I think its still punishable, but apologizing might deter the person from reporting you in the first place?
You are dumb wouldn't even register as offensive to the community :D maybe I'm wrong but it'd take alot of this to be punishable Player B is tossing out the ole "i'm reporting you" which is reportable :D so Player B, would get punished before A IMO
Of course. They use an automated system, its not going to see any "apologies" and if it did it would be easy to say whatever you wanted and avoid any punishment because of an "apology".
