Reminder that people can still be held hostage in champ select

The options of avoiding this are so limited that either way it goes, you'll still lose something.

Dodge? -3 LP for you and possibly a wait timer, PLUS the person who was threatening you isn't punished.

Enter the game? That's a full loss of LP for you and the person who was trolling gets reported and not even possibly getting banned.

We're so powerless that both options aren't even beneficial to you, and it won't matter for the troll because that's what they do and it's aggravating to deal with. There's even the "duo hostage" which is x10 worse.

A solution for this could be a vote-dodge, where 4/1 of the people in champ select can vote to dodge w/o any penalty. Then again, the duo hostage might strike up and prevent that from happening. Any ideas?

Even if the perpetrator doesn't get punished right away, people tend to operate on sheer force of habit so chances are high that person will eventually get punished.

I have never dodged a lobby in my entire 6 years of playing this game.

Exactly, it's not exactly impossible to put up with. I've also never had a chat restriction or a ban.

Self control is a sign of maturity.

Self control is not sign of maturity. Too strict self control usually lead up totally broken person inside as he has no way to get frustration out. Handling you emotions is maturity, not rigid self-control.

If you can do it, there is no logical assumption everyone can. I can sense muscle reacting too much pressure while I massage someone, but I know my friends who are professional massage nurses cannot do it. Sign of maturity is to understand you can do things someone else cannot.

Stop this bullshit. You know really well most of perpetrator never get punished. And Riot know it too. You are giving RIot false competence and benevolence. They are neither. They know doing what they tell you would require banning significant portion of players, and most of those players have alts.

I have dodged once of twice. Reason why I do not do it is the reason which original poster said: I am punished for actions of someone else breaking the rules. Riot has promised us pregame chat reporting now 7 years. I do not believe they are even trying to do it. It is really frustrating Riot is saying "this is not acceptable, it is punishable, and we do not give a shit. Instead we punish you for not giving enemy free win and enjoy 30 mins of suffering with false hope we might ban the guy maybe next millenium"
