Been locked out of my account all day due to "offensive summoner name"

My current summoner name, the one I've had for nigh-on 10 years "SonicTheHedgedawg" which had never been flagged before "suddenly" received an influx of reports deeming it so offensive that it needs to be changed before I can play the game again. Also, in an attempt to gain season-end rewards, I decided to flex my skills (pun intended) in flex queue for the first time in... well... pretty much ever (excluding the one week when there were quests asking us to use the queue). Since I am platinum in solo queue and was ranked silver in flex queue, some of the games, including the most recent one I played, resulted in total stomps.

It seems to me like, since flex queue is full of premades, a group of premade players must have ganged up and reported my name as sour-grapes and the result was locking me out of my account pretty much all day since the support site is really slow on Sundays.

I'm sure the profile lock is going to get overturned, but it really hampers my ability to late-season rush for the Kai'Sa exclusive skin and to get gold+ in flex queue and 3 v 3 queue, which seems really unfair for not doing anything wrong.

Additionally, it seems pretty obvious that anyone reporting a completely inoffensive summoner name as offensive is doing it out of malice, and it feels really unfair that such behavior isn't punished itself. Obviously I don't have access to the reports themselves, but if it turns out that it WAS a premade team banding together to try to enact some sort of revenge on a bad game, especially if that's a behavior that they regularly exhibit, that really feels like it needs to be punishable on its own.

UPDATE: The messaging isn't correct. It states that there have been reports and my username is inappropriate, but they actually want it to be 16 characters or shorter.

imo if false reports like this get you banned or whatever and its overturned, the person that triggered it should 110% catch a ban

They could be going copyright fascist, just a thought. Someone try with Disney references. That or they are trying to sneakily clean up all summoner names > 16 characters with falsified name bans.

Best bet is to contact support - they'll look into it and reverse it if it was inappropriate, or give you a free name change if they deem it appropriate for a reason.

Kinda wish the reporting system was like "Maplestory 2", you get an "Are You Sure" prompt, and if you are caught false reporting people you get permanently banned on your first offense.

Yeah, thats fucked up. At least it ended up being only that they wanted it to be shorter. Thats weird too though. Did they recently change that? Just odd.

To be fair, I would report your name for the word "Dawg".

Sometimes players will report for club tags too. :eyes:

Odd. It would have to be an extraordinary effort, since the system would be fixed to not allow premades to have that power. Something weird happened or you have a ton of enemies.
