Stop holding games hostage

An Actual Ghost·7/20/2017, 7:20:56 AM·53 votes·3,919 views

I was in a normal game, had an afk, and we were already behind with no chance to win.

The remaining 3 on my team were premade and refused to surrender because they wanted to punish me and hold me hostage.

The enemy team had 15 chances to end the game but would instead stop pushing and 5 man hunt me down over and over and the premade 3 I was stuck with would tell them my location in all chat if they couldn't see me.

Literal 1v8. For 30 minutes. The game was over at like 12 minutes in when we had an afk.

This scenario happens all the time.

STOP. HOLDING. ME. HOSTAGE. I. HAVE. SHIT. TO. DO.

Then go do your shit. A single leavebuster game means nothing. If you don't make a habit of it, your leavebuster meter will eventually be reduced to 0.

I would had Alt-Tab that game and do something else... (don't force close League. You're gonna want to be able to report them when the game ends)

I'm not saying it is right to be trolled like that, but you don't have to be a hostage. Take the leavebuster and relieve yourself of the game.

You have things to do? Maybe dont queue up for a game that could take one hour or more. Problem solved.

Yeah I am getting that alot. If the match doesnt go their way, they will punish their team. If I have a bad game and give up the first few kills. The moment the enemy team gets the advantage, even if the whole team aknowledges that the match is over, players will still vote no. And they will use some sort of excuse "X player fed the enemy, so they can suffer for it" So players are INTENTIONALLY voting no as a form of strikeback on their own team. Because certain teammates didnt play to their standards, they deserve to have their time wasted, to suffer through the match. No its not that there is a chance to win, they accept that. its simply a case of "You didnt play at the level -I- expect you to play at, so I want you to sit through this lost match and suffer as a form of punishment"

And if you afk or leave the match, you will get punished by leaverbuster so these players KNOW they can hold you as long as they want. If you leave? you get punished If you afk? you get punished If you dont play like its the LCS World finals? you get punished

all the while they can sit there and intentionally make surrender votes fail 3/2 because they want you to suffer and anguish in the match...because how DARE you not be as great at the game as THEM. And people wonder why there is so much toxicity in the matches, so much resentment towards teammates. Because people like this BREED toxicity. But rest assured, THEY wont get punished, they know that. Thats why they can do it. They can admit the match is lost and state that they want to punish you. and they will face no consequences.

Fair point for this situation, but there are many games where there are no AFK's and people don't want to punish a teammate, and still being judged as holding hostage just because they don't want to surrender.

The problem of this post is that it might encourage people to be upset at their teammates when they don't want to surrender, even if no one is AFK, just because that one person thinks it's "lost anyway". Very often this situation happens and it frequently leads to the isolated person going afk or intentionally feed after the team doesn't agree to surrender. Forcing a loss by doing this is even worse. You have to respect the team's decision. I have personally won games where we were losing 3-24 and lost games where we were winning by the same difference.

I agree that having an AFK is basically a loss (though sometimes if the 4 remaining are in good shape a 4v5 is possible), but you have to judge if the rest of the teammates are punishing you or actually trying to win because they have confidence. If they are in promos and want to try their hardest until the last minute, ultimately you have to respect the majority's decision as well...

You refuse to chat, I refuse to Surrender.

You can't force me nor expect me to FF only because you wish to. I may have my reasons not to. Respect everyone.

That's a lot of hate for just 1 person... did you perchance flame them in all-chat? That would explain what happened.

Submit a support ticket, Riot might be able to do something about the players who bullied you.

I always hold people hostage in games if they feed hard without excuse. Sucksuo with 0/10? Fuck you buddy, you're gonna sit in this game until our Nexus is down because you're not learning the lesson from surrendering once you messed up.

If you're responsible for the game loss, you're going to sit down and live through it.

Punish for what?

And honestly, that's just so stupid, "holding someone hostage", they feel like they are doing something cool when in reality are just wasting your and their time...

In that case, I would have simply stopped doing anything to prolong the game, attack a minion/junglecreep every few minutes to prevent LeaverBuster from triggering.

They get bored before I do :D

and the premade 3 I was stuck with would tell them my location in all chat if they couldn't see me.

Enough to get every one giving away your position as "hidden" to be severely punished if you reported them for a: unsportsmanlike conduct. b: intentionally feeding (as they give away your position (assisting enemy team)) c: verbal abuse, as they relay your location to the enemy which is highly punishable in a fair-play community and rule-set.

i know it's a tough fight to endure. but really. all you can do is "afk farm" and report after game.
