Report it so Riot can lock the account and the owner can recover it at least, they tend to steal accounts for this.

Yes, submit a Support Ticket. You can use the category I have a question > Game & Features > General Questions for tickets that don't have a more appropriate one.

I doubt it was account boosting (the type you hand over your account for somebody else to play on it). That kind of boosting is pretty defunct nowadays according to Riot because the automated systems in place to detect it are pretty reliable, but most importantly it's obsolete because Riot allows premades in ranked. Why risk your account getting hijacked or banned when you can just pay somebody high level to duo with you and carry your games? There's plenty of people doing that, and there are even actual companies created just to offer this kind of service. All 100% legitimate.

boosting services are not legitimate...... if you pay to climb elo you will still be banned(to my knowledge)

So long as you actually play all your games, Riot will do nothing. There's nothing prohibiting you to pay for people to duo with you. I know this because I was in the same situation as OP a few months back and that's what Riot support told me.

It's awful, yeah, but it comes with not having a true solo queue.

you can duo with a friends smurf as soon as you offer money, it becomes an issue as you are paying for a service Riot is not hosting a business inside their game Riot is the Business, so as long as no money is being exchanged for the boost(and yes it can be very apparent of boosting for money)then you're good to go

That's account boosting. Duo boosting is not covered, paid or not. It doesn't matter if money exchanged hands with your duo partner or not, so long as you yourself played the games, and you didn't use scripts or forbidden applications, Riot will not take action. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact, and if you doubt me then send a ticket to player support asking them to clarify it to you. They will tell you the same thing they told me when I asked them that.

So If i ask them Riot, is it okay if I pay to get my account boosted to a higher elo But I will continue to play the account through the boost session are you okay with this and I will not be punished for it? They will say yeah you're clear to get boosted...
