I Hope This Isn't Just Me
Is it just me or are most of the toxic players I run into Platinum ranked players? In my experience of playing this game, these players have been the most toxic. I mean, Bronze players don't complain because they know their skill level and they are focused on improving themselves rather than putting down others. Silver players are kind of like Bronze players, in that sense, but they see their potential and strive to reach higher on the totem pole. Gold players are annoying in chat, but not really "toxic" by definition. More so, they just have a more competitive, taunting speech pattern within their games. However, most Platinum players I run into are toxic in the fact that they seem to believe they are the best players ever.
If you make a mistake, not even a big one but a small one, they will flame you nonstop for it. And, from that point on, every time you make a mistake, they will not only flame you for that mistake, they will refer you back to your original mistake. No matter what you do, it will always lead back to the very first mistake you made in game. all the while they throw "your rank" in your face (even if they don't truly know it) to try and make you believe that you are inferior to them.
If THEY make a mistake and die for it, they blame you for not following up. Even if following up would mean both of you would die, they would rather you die with them because I guess it makes it easier for them to blame you once you both die. They'll just say something like "did you seriously not insert action here?!" or "This insert champion here though...so bad"
I wouldn't really be posting about this if it didn't happen so often, but since it does, I wanted to know if I'm just unlucky. This is obviously from Normals games, though, since I am only a Silver player and can't be matched with them in Ranked. (At least, I think anyway...) But seriously, is this just me or is this a re-occurring pattern?
