Stop censoring %%%%%, %%%got, etc.

By making words taboo you cement their meaning. When you allow words to flow naturally their meaning changes over the years as languages change. Censoring specific words that we deem harmful today, means they'll still be harmful a hundred years from now.

Are words bad or are the connotations we attach to them bad? If those words no longer have bad connotations attached to them are they still bad? How do you change the connotation of a word? Sure as hell not by censoring it.

When language changes, they can change the system.

For now, it is 100% not tolerated.

Censored or not, those words are considered hate speech and not allowed in game at all.

Using them gets you an immediate 14 day "last warning ban".

Riot has every right to censor words they find offensive on their game servers.

Riot censoring them is an early warning system to the player that their speech is unacceptable under Riot's standard of player behavior.

I highly doubt there are many instances where those words are meant affectionately, particularly with strangers. I have yet to see "Bliltz, you're my number one f - - - - t!"

Allowing people to be dicks without any effort to limit or restrict their ability to do so is quite simply a bad idea. We aren't going to allow these racially, socially, or otherwise charged words to be used on the Boards simply to make a social point. If at some point in the future, the impact of these words is limited, that's great. But for now, these words are harmful and abusive, and we'll censor them on the Boards because we can.

The issue is these words used to have neutral connotations (f-- is used as a word for cigarette/butt in some parts of Europe) but over time, by not being censored, they've lost the neutral connotations and literally only become negative.

Don't you have anything better to do besides wasting time making this kind of thread....

there are some really weird things that are censored in lobby... things that aren't even "bad" words

too bad I can't think of an example

What about when your in game and said that censor word. Tell me the reaction.

Glu10Sensitivity9/17/2017, 6:56:31 AM1 votes

buddy, i looked at your other discussion and they are in conflict with each other. in the other thread you claim riot favors gays and blacks because they censor slurs against gays and blacks but not against middle eastern people. now you want riot to not censor any of them.

what do you really want? do you want all slurs censored or do you want no slurs censored?
