Between honor checkpoints, what is the distance?

I realize it's relative to the number of games played, and that honor 3 isn't supposed to be that easy to get, but I feel like I should be further along than checkpoint 1. I've been on checkpoint one FOREVER actually, despite garnering honors from teammates fairly regularly (I'd estimate around half of my games from the start of s8 and now), sometimes even multiple honors. So I am just curious what the specifics are. Anywho! I'll add that my internet cut out for five minutes during a game and the leaverbuster got onto me. Could that have something to do with it?

LeaverBuster is completely separate from the honor system and the IFS (punishment system).

The two biggest things in honor growth are the "everyone on the team honored someone" bonus and playing a game without being validly reported. The individual honors don't provide much.

So, the biggest thing that prevents honor growth is valid reports. That means that to progress the fastest you'll want to avoid anything that the IFS flags as negative, like calling for reports, accusing someone of trolling, feeding, participating in arguments, ect.

I'm on last checkpoint before purple. My understanding is that you do not receive the same weight from an honor if it's from a friend or premade. Which is a little hypocritical of RIOT. They encourage groups and social play, but encourage soloing in the same breath. I do solo queue more than teamplay because I seem to get to checkpoints faster that way![sg-lux-2]
