So people keep minimizing the impact toxicity in chat does and putting the responsibility of it elsewhere. making suggestions like just mute them dont ban them etc.

but communication is important part of the game. planning, helping each other, etc.

playing with muted players? difficult.

players losing chat permissions permanently hurt future team mates and match ups. its not viable option as alternative to banning.

and suggesting other players to get over it and just mute the offender isn't fair either, it doesnt stop them from doing it in future games to others, nor does it fix whatever damage they already did prior to muting. negative mood can tilt someone's performance, and someone being toxic has that effect.

and, again, muting hurts communication and the whole team. its not a viable solution.

so should players be banned for being toxic? yes. it is VERY easy to not be toxic. why is this so hard why are so many people complaining about it/arguing it shouldn't be a bannable offense? like if you cant get through games without being toxic maybe you should choose another game to play?

Chat is not necessary; Pings are much more efficient

Pings handle a lot of the necessary communication but chat is also necessary. I use around 10 lines per game and those are all to communicate things pings could not. Not having those 10 line would really be a detriment.

Are you a high elo player? Do you have any personal insight into what high elo players do in their games? Please don't reference a handful of streamers as proof. There are way more high elo players than those asshats.

I would think that high elo players, by the nature of being high elo, have understood the value of appropriate communication, including when to use the chat box.

Unless you're extremely sensitive to what people say to you online, for all we know you just grabbed a random acc you found and posted it. Exactly that or when I play my Fiora for example I split push and can usually outduel anyone at to which point I tell my team that if they send two bot like the mid or jg go for baron because they won't have the damage or the engage with the other 3.

Communicating that is very hard. Same with other things like asking whose gonna buy frozen heart if you're against a team with high attack speed and have multiple champs on yours who can buy it.

That doesn't tell them why you want them in that lane, what your plan is, etc - making it harder for them to know "should I just go to that lane to bait them then leave quickly, should I try to hold them down there, should I hard push, should I soft push, should i simply just last hit".

I have never advocated that a certain amount of chat is "too much". It's how you use it. If you're using 100+ messages per game and all of them are flaming, it's guaranteed that your gameplay is suffering because of it. If you're using 100+ messages per game and all of them are coordinating with your team, it's almost certainly helping.

Do you have any idea how solo queue works? Considering youve only made it to like 1400 mmr games im guessing you don't, Solo queue in iron - plat isnt a team game, its based soley around you not inting and being able to 1v9, and thats the sad truth, because 1/5 games your team is going to int, id say probably 1/3 games even, people SUCK at the game, but are for some reason able to climb up by just spamming a ton of games and getting luckily carried through. Thats how solo queue works, mostly because the games imbalanced and their is certain champions that are broken beyond belief that 1v9 out of any circumstance.

Because high elo players are usually on the same page about what needs to be done. In low elo, everyone has different priorities in mind, because we kinda suck. We need to get on the same page with strategic communication sometimes. Obviously high elo teams dont need it as much.

higher elo players are usually due queuing and have discord. just watch some of the streams. they're usually talking over discord to their buddy or having others join their discord server. no need to even use the chat

If everyone chose to play another game becuase they couldn't stop being toxic, league would lose more than half its player base. We've all been there. The game is competitive and frustrating and emotion/irrationality can get in the way of things. Turning off chat has helped me as a toxic player and also as a player who will get flamed. I think this move is optional they didn't force it on anyone so I think its the right move.

Chat should be removed and be replaced with additional pings to the ping wheel that more or less covers everything. Can't talk toxic if there's no chat. Pre-match and post-match chat should be removed too. As they serve no purpose.
