Report Baiters?

So this has happened to me a few times, one of the times actually made my account get banned. Basically, a group of people in a game will be super toxic in order to get you to say anything remotely toxic. As soon as you say something back to them, they gang up on you and try to get you to say literally anything reportable. After the game you end up with 5x reports while not even being anywhere near as toxic as the others, but obviously nobody will report them because they are all on the same side. One time I was in a pre-made 4 man team and they were extremely toxic to me. So I'm the one to stand up for myself so I did. After the game all four of them reported me and I was banned shortly after. My reports did nothing because it was One vs. Four. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

1 report = 9 reports. If you actually did break the rules, sorry you fell for a few trolls idea of a game. If you didn't break the rules, you are fine. Multiple reports doesn't mean a thing if you never flamed or harassed anyone in game, or never inted and trolled. You cannot be punished for having a bad game.

Number of reports don't matter.

Getting baited sucks, and you can try to ask for leniency if it's truly what happened, but unless you were actually threatened to force you to be toxic (ie. "I will intentionally feed unless you call me the n-word"), it probably won't be overturned. Ultimately, you're responsible for your own chat.

Alright so let me explain something about bait banners and why you're really getting yourself banned overall...

  1. Nobody can make you act outside the rules

I know this seems simple but the thing is you were willing to act outside the acceptable use of the chatbox. It is meant to progress the game in your team's favor by relaying information or congratulating good play to encourgae a team member. You chose to respond to someone else who was outside the intended purpose then you went outside the rules.

  1. The things that result in immediate ban

The things that result in immediate bans are all things that common sense dictates you should not say. Zero tolerance things such as racist/homophobic speech or calling for somebody to end their own life are all clearly not acceptable.

  1. Them setting a win condition

If they set a win condition based upon you acting outside the rules then it is your decision that leads to you acting outside the rules and conducting yourself in a ban worthy manner. You know what is and is not acceptable behavior. The summoner's code is not some obscure thing you cannot find. You can easily look it up and follow the simple guidelines to not be banned. Nobody has ever been banned and remain banned for following the summoner's code.

  1. You reacted in rage but were baited in to raging

Again this comes down to personal accountability. You chose to react in an unacceptable manner. Nobody can make you do anything on a video game.

Basically with these things in mind that's why i do not believe that anyone who is "bait banned" should be unbanned. You chose to act outside the rules whether prompted or not. Your decisions were something you made and must now deal with the consequences of. You do not deserve sympathy for some boogeyman who magically made you say racist/homophobic things. You need to reevaluate your outlook and decisions if you are banned and decide how you will be above repeating that behavior thus the idea of being "reformed". Being "reformed" is owning up to your actions and accepting accountability for them. Then realizing they are not good and changing those habits for the better. So do yourself a favor and accept the blame for your actions and know that you can simply mute these so called "bait banners" and choose to not break the rules.

TL;DR : Nobody can make you do anything. You are accountable for your actions including chat messages . Nobody else's actions modify how the rules apply to you. Fix your behavior and you will not be banned for reacting to minimal prompting for zero tolerance triggers.

The system has the ability to filter out false reports, so if you did nothing wrong, the system wouldn't punish you.

As others have said already, there is no difference in how the system views 1 reports or 9 reports within the same game. All it does is trigger the system to check if there is toxicity in the log. 9 reports will return the same answer for that specific game and doesn't make people get punished faster.

You've got your information so wrong. 1 report is weighed the same as 9.

just ignore the baiters. man i had to learn the hard way and ignore those people. u never see them again after the game and just report them and forget about it. every game u play is always 9 random players and after that u dont see them again. why bother arguing with people u never see again lol. thats like fighting with a random stranger in college and then u get expelled bc of the random student and then just wonder "man if i didnt fightwith the random student i wouldnt be expelled".

tldr: just fk these people. you never see them again why waste ur time arguing with them.

(only time u see them again is when u add them as friends lol)
