Alright so I really don't know what to do anymore. I used to be kind of toxic, more so I just hated getting flamed and as soon as I got flamed I would flame them back twice as hard. Even in my more toxic days I never started flaming teammates first, it was ALWAYS in retaliation. Anyway, I have learned a lot from getting banned and what not, and now whenever I get flamed I'll usually just tell them to stop being toxic then mute them.

However, I guess this strategy doesn't work anymore, because a few games ago my top laner started flaming me heavily and wouldn't stop. He would spam ping me every time I died and the whole nine yards. So, being the REFORMED player that I am, I didn't say anything negative I just said "Alright bud you need to stop being so toxic." then muted him. But guess what! Three people in the game told me they are reporting me. Their reason? Well the two people on my team who reported me told me their reason is because I was "toxic" and a "flamer". How was I toxic you may ask? Well it's because I played "poorly and got caught out a couple times" -The people who reported me. That makes me toxic and a flamer. On top of that, a player from the opposing team told me he is reporting me and his reasoning was, "I can just tell you are toxic, I know you were flaming your teammates the whole game." What??? 3x report for playing poorly and "Seeming like a toxic player." Which the one who flamed me did in fact admit that I didn't flame in chat at all, just flamed by my poor play. I Love this community! So pleasant to play in!

I also got a 10 game chat restriction a week ago because of my oh so "toxic" behavior. What I did that was toxic enough to get chat restricted for 10 games you may ask? Well I told my teammate who wouldn't stop flaming me to "F*** off" then muted him. Mind you that's literally all I said to my teammates the entire game. I love it! Rito tribunal does such a great job at getting the toxic players. This community is a toxic joke and I am so sick of it.

I really don't know what to do anymore. Apparently no matter what you say in chat will get you reported. Why is there even a chat function when people just abuse the report system like no other.

There is no chance in hell you got banned for saying "Alright bud you need to stop being so toxic.". There's a possibility, even though it's highly unlikely, you got banned for telling someone to fuck off.

Please contact support and ask for your chat logs, and then post them here so we can better assist you in figuring out why the punishment came.

You got punished because someone reported you for saying "fuck off." Guaranteed.

I can tell you from experience that the community is being reformed and more toxic people are having action taken against their account than a year ago. I used to send tickets into support every week complaining about how bad the League community was, but now I am starting to see some improvement. Unfortunately, there are always going to be some bad apples to sort out, but I still feel like the community as a whole is improving.

On another note, in the future just mute and report people. There's no reason to retaliate or tell them you ae muting/reporting them, and those are actually punishable offenses because of the griefing/harassment aspect. Keep on being the better person, it's worth it.
