You can't type nothing in chat because everything is racist, toxic, unsportsmanlike and shit but what realy hurts the game are fucking trolls that ACTUALLY ruin your game. Is this a rated E for everyone game that you cant say somebody sucks or is trash because they get offended the littlwe cucks, but people actually trolling dont get suspended because they never type in chat therefore they are inmmune
redniwediS14 votesThey care about both. No one wants a troll, but people are equally sick and tired of temper tantrums in game. Riot doesn't decide everything that is punishable, some of it they leave up to the community. If enough of the community is reporting it Riot takes a stand, and little shits not knowing when to keep their mouths shut and just play got reported enough.
Riot's not protecting the feelings of the easily offended, they are saying the community has had enough and you're welcome to play a different game if you don't feel like growing up. This game has moved on, so either move on with it and drop the poor behavior or find something else to play.

The game is rated T for teen due to things inside the game, involving the game itself. Online interactions are not rated.
That being said it is easier to check chat and punish, which is why there are more chat penalties before perma (pending escalation because 0 tolerance). Proving someone is trolling or inting, isn't always easy.
Aneirin6 votesIt's pretty easy to chat without being punished. If you find that hard you need to have a look at how you communicate - would you talk to people you don't know in real life like that?
Trolling isn't immune, but it obviously takes a lot longer to punish as it needs to be done manually.

Putting aside the Terms of Use and disregarding other players in general? No. Also, what you may consider trolling may not be actually trolling. Just because a player isn't playing by your standards or doing what you want doesn't mean they're trolling. Riot focuses on both. It's just chat is easier to catch. Besides, words should always chance consequences. If you say something to offend a player, there should always be consequences.
Both ruin the game. Just because you want to have the freedom of not facing the consequences of your words doesn't mean Riot should just let you.

I dunno I've found a few junglers who were literally just not saying a word and walking around in the jungle, not participating in fights, taking in the sights and barely killing their own camps. I get they're not really staffed to do this type of thing but reports for literal trolling should be flagged immediately. You're given options to type what happened in the game, so if they see someone typed "This guy was just walking around the jungle barely doing anything, not taking camps, or participating in fights" that should trigger a manual review.

If you've got numbers on their net income as a company that would actually be useful, but I already know no one has those numbers.

I'm sure more visibility and transparency would reduce toxicity. Sometimes throwing more money at a problem doesn't really solve the problem.

Yeah, but if the problem is being behind due to lack of people, it does. More visibility and transparency could make the system more vulnerable.

Because, remember, League's playerbase numbers well into the millions. The amount of people it'd take to put even a dent in the trolling problem would be horribly unreasonable to try and muster.
With hundreds upon thousands upon likely millions of reports for trolling, intentionally feeding, and griefing, a good majority of which are likely false reports, trying to actually catch up or run through the backlog of reports would be such a godsawful expensive effort that making a whole new game would be a better investment.

One step could be at least to place reports with text on a higher priority. I'm sure most people just report and move on without bothering to write text. I know I do(unless these situations occur). I'm not sure if this is already the case or not, but if it isn't, it's something to think about. As for the amount they'd have to hire, hell they could hire 50 people and it'd be more than we have right now.
