Why such a harsh ban?

I can understand a chat ban, but a 14 day suspension? I admit that Ive given up on my team for a myriad of reason a few times...but with my record in B5 you can tell that I don't do this often....so I'm wondering why I got a 14 day suspension instead of a chat ban? I'll post the text I was sent below.....I don't see much here other than some frustration at teammates for lack of teamwork and some insults using vulgarity...but its not like I am anywhere close to the verbal abuse I see practically every match in B5...so why such a harsh punishment? Is it because One time I said I was going to feed ? That happened once, and I gave 2 free kills away....but if you look at my record, I've given 2 free kils away one time total, so I'm confused. Two or three time I gave up on my team and went to another lane until the game was over because there was no teamsowrk, but I didnt afk or feed those game, I simple did my own thig...which is common in bronze....but considering my division, I still have a decent record, so it isn't a consistent thing..just 2 or 3 times in like 150 ranked matches.... Please help me understand.

As of right now, there are 4 punishments for chat related offenses, and they are given out in this order:

1.) 10 game chat restriction 2.) 25 game chat restriction 3.) 14 day ban 4.) Permanent ban

The way it works is once you receive one punishment, your next offense will give you the next highest tier of punishment, regardless of how "minor" your offense may have been. It is also possible for Riot to escalate you straight to a 14 day or permanent ban, but Riot really only does this if they deem your case severe enough. Also, it is possible to lower your punishment level by one tier if you go 3 months without receiving any punishments.

So, with that in mind, have you received a a 25 game chat restriction in the past 3 months? If so, then that is why you received a 14 day ban this time around. The 14 day ban is the standard punishment after a 25 game chat restriction. If you haven't received one, then it's quite likely that Riot found that your case was severe enough to be escalated straight to a 14 day ban.

They need to start playing better and it takes people who have a sack to actually tell them what needs to happen. The rest of these kids who are idolizing a broken ban system are the kids who are playing like garbage game-in and game-out and don't want to even try to get better. Hopefully demoralizing these fools will get them to stop playing the game and go grow a pair.

Banning people from a game for their chat in a game with a chat filter and the ability to ignore. Is flat out stupid in the first place. That being said. If you got a 14 day suspension for that I have no clue why Im not perma banned yet. You are downright cuddly compared to me when I get pissed off in a game.

You aren't being judged based on your teammates comments; only what you say. Retaliation to provocation wit toxicity is still toxic behaviour.

If you have received a 14 day ban, then that is because you continued to display negative behaviour after the two previous punishments. I would be quite careful since their next step is to permanently ban your account.

Alright..thanks for the replies. I don't think I was too bad in the 3 games listed above. Ive seen much worse and watched those players continue to play matches without punishment. I know I wasnt a bright ball of sunshine, but the stuf I see in game is insanely worse. I posted a Youtube video yesterday about a Lux who was way worse and she apparently wasn't penalized...Riots penalty system is very flawed. Check out the Lux video and compare my behavior to hers and let me know what you think. My Youtube channel is called "BurstDmg". I'm not saying that because she was way worse that it justifies my comments, but I just dont understand why my penalty was so severe. The video that I posed of Lux is something that I have to deal with almost every match in bronze....and I'm not a bad player according to lolskill.net. As a matter of fact, I came on these forums like 2 weeks ago and a very helpful Diamond player who mains Leona support took like 2.5 hours of his time with me to give me advice, and since them most of my matches listed on lolskill.net say that I'm playing 60%-99% better than the average Leona player.....if only I could get out of bronze and into a division where people actually try to win instead ogf not caring either way because they cant drop any further :(
