The bottom line

I want to play with people who also want to play the game

Matchmaking isn't really giving me that experience---- I don't think I need to explain to you all how bad the average attitude is right now.

We've spent a long time in the current behavior management system and I believe its safe to say its a failure overall.

You shouldn't have anecdotes of people explaining how easy it was for them to ruin games while not talking right next to another anecdote of someone receiving insta punishment for one game of chat.

I'm only playing league occasionally these days mainly because the people aren't enjoyable to play with. If someone fucks off mid game you don't even get the satisfaction of knowing they'll get reprimanded, but you're also stuck with the frustration of having to watch your own response to their bullshit. I've somehow managed to not get in trouble and follow the rules, but I don't feel any kind of "good" about it.

Pre-season is coming up, and for the first time since playing league I have no feelings of hype. Even if you flipped all the mechanics upside down again, I'd still be playing with the same bunch of scum fuck bastards.

That's my Review of 2018 League and the Preview of 2019 seems to be more of the same. GL on the rift.

Have you considered joining a team or club? Recreational games with 9 strangers doesn't seem to be what you're looking for, but is what soloq is made for.
