30 minute queue times...
I know it isn't just me, can we please actually make the support role actually valued? http://tinypic.com/r/20aavcj/9

i have the same fucking issue
Guess this thread isn't important enough to keep everyone's attention, honestly the only way we are going to solve the issue is if we get enough players, and riot notices.
I at most have 10 minute queue times. Also, Riot can't "fix" the support role without making it totally broken. To coin a reference someone made before about support: Everyone wants to be a rockstar. Nobody wants to be a roadie.
other games have supports that can actually do damage
I main support so I have queues less than a second long. Woo-hoo. Being a support is awesome!
To answer the roadie/rockstar question: The thing is, literally every champion in this game can do damage. Maybe not much damage. But they can do it. Every single champion.
But not every champion can make portals through walls, heal, and freeze a massive circle. Not many champions can bring people back from the dead and move at incredible speeds.
I just find support champions more interesting to play
What if there was an IP modifier for roles that were underplayed? When you go into the queue and you can select your preferred positions, it would show something like:
Top - 1 Jungle - 1.2 Mid - 1 ADC - 1 Support - 2
Basically playing support, in this particular instance, would mean you got 200% IP from the match, while playing Jungle would net an additional 20% above your base IP and the other roles were just whatever you earned. The bonuses would be dynamic, both which roles and the amounts, based off of the current needs of the matchmaker. If everyone started playing support because of the 200% IP, then the bonus would start to drop, and in a couple hours it might be gone, while ADC might have a need and be getting bonus IP for picking it.
Another option, which would have to be thought over a lot before implementing it, would be to give priority to highly regarded players (Players who get a lot of commendations from teammates). There would be some limit, so that average players would still get to champ select, but it would give an incentive to not be a dick, because the better you treat your team, the more commendations you generally get, and it would actually help you reduce queue times.
