Hey there, Summoner!

The Arbiters would like to announce a new initiative to provide quality and informed responses for players who come to the Player Behavior & Moderation sub-boards: the #player-behavior channel within our League of Legends Community Discord, hosted by Riot Games Volunteers in various regions. You can use this as a venue to hang out with Arbiters, volunteers, and players active in Player Behavior & Moderation.

We'll be keeping an eye out in these channels, so you can be assured that your opinions, thoughts, and concerns are being heard. While this isn't an official channel for volunteers, we're committed to remaining engaged with players in any way that we can. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have, whether they be related to the Player Behavior systems, moderation, League of Legends events, server issues, technical issues, etc.

To access this channel, visit the Discord link at the bottom of this post, and start by registering your name and region in the #register-account channel. You can then navigate to the various text channels from there.

If you have any questions about the Discord, my experience as a volunteer, etc., feel free to post as a reply or join the conversation on Discord!

Discord is much like TeamSpeak, where you join a Discord Server and can participate in text channels and voice channels. There's a web application, desktop application, and mobile applications, so you can use it with whatever means of communication is most convenient for you! :D

I'm well aware of my legal rights, and I was well within my legal rights to moderate the contents of the Discord server.

Are you also aware that getting rid of evidence before an investigation can begin is illegal?

Tl;dr Discord is not liable to take you getting banned to court whatsoever and no law was broken. Only if it was a copyright issue, would it be brought to discord's legal attention.

You have no legal grounds to threaten to pursue legal action in the first place. Discord themselves say you are accountable for all interactions with anyone in Discord, not them. Deleting evidence is irrelevant if there is no case to begin with.

i joined the discord to ask them (the arbiters) what i should do in this situation thinking that they were part of riots staff, and they laughed mocked and ridiculed me saying just dont talk about it and wuks said that he doesnt care about what happens to me in game and that i should basically keep it all to myself. he said my opinion was irrelevant and that if i wanted help i should send in a support ticket. i tried to explain to them that i already did, but they werent getting it. i tried so hard to explain that riot hasnt replied to me in over 3 days, and that the systematic hatred i am recieving is NOT irrelevant. he said just ignore them and it will go away. he didnt even help me and then told me that i wasnt gonna listen to him and to get lost right before he kicked me from the server.

This is not an accurate representation of what happened.

You rejected the solutions while maintaining impossible expectation(or desire I suppose) for this toxicity that you are triggering to be somehow preempted.

What he said was mostly irrelevant was individual's opinions in relation to the community as a whole.

how did i reject the solutions? all you guys were saying is that i shouldnt celebrate my customs. you didnt provide me anything that i didnt already hear. i dont think that its right to say that i shouldnt celebrate my culture and my love for it, which is what you were all implying. dont you remember that you yourself said i was a troll? dont you remember that you said i should just not speak about it? i told you i already mute them when they become toxic, i report them post game, and i try and ignore them but game after game? and to see you calling me toxic for standing up for myself? all i want is for people to know that this guy didnt help me and instead got rid of me so he wouldnt have to hear me. dont try and twist things into something that makes you and your "arbiters" look good in front of the community.

No one said you shouldn't celebrate your customs, we(I) suggested you should do it in private since it is clearly disruptive. Because anything that can be done about this is going to be in response to the reports you issue the offenders after the fact. It will not ever be preventable.

I absolutely never said I think you are a troll. That 100% did not happen. I said you are doing something that mostly only trolls do. If there are 100 people saying praise allah or anything similar in chat 99 of them are trolling. That is what I was pointing out, why you were treated like a troll by many people you run into. I absolutely never called you a troll.

I don't know for sure that I didn't ever call you toxic, but I'm fairly certain that I didn't. I said you were triggering toxicity, not that you were toxic(anywhere I can see or that I can recall).

You are either mistaken something someone else said for something I said or straight up lying.

You couldn't prove that because it didn't happen. You have said I called you a troll multiple times, in your old thread, in discord, and here. It simply never happened. I only ever stated that you are doing something that mostly only trolls do. I don't even think you are a troll. I just think you are stubborn and refuse to help yourself.

Your idea that I either called you a troll or think you are a troll is 100% in your head.

Opinions, people have opinions. Spouting about your god when everyone on the team could be a different religion could cause issues that do not pertain to the game in any sense. It's irrelevant and should stay out of video games.

Pinging IS annoying and disruptive (when spammed/used to troll or annoy), seeing as how people are trying to get /ignores to apply to pings as well when they are used improperly.
Favorite food is not nearly as argumentative/opinionated than religion. Religion is all about which god is real, which isn't etc. It leads into a huge argument that disrupts the game.

Saying my favorite food is Pizza isn't going to cause a group-wide argument spewing toxicity. Maybe it'll start a discussion on different foods or something, but nothing negative/disruptive/rude.

If you choose to play League of Legends, it's entirely reasonable to expect game-related communications to occur. Pings fall under that. Religion does not. There's nothing wrong with your beliefs or customs; you just need to find a more appropriate setting to express them.

yes i was LOL in the chat. did you see that way they treated me? even deep terror nami began saying that i should just stop talking about it. they said it was getting "out of hand" but they just werent listening to me. they think that by removing the person that will stop the problem but all it does is avoid the problem. noone on there even helped me. instead they made fun of me and my customs.

Is there any benefit to joining even if I have no direct objective to joining? AKA Is it worth my time if I just want to do the hang out with people part?

I am not one to put down social opportunities that are directly related to something I enjoy.

Sure! There are different channels, including "looking for group" channels, a general channel for people across the different regions to casually talk, and a few other channels.

Personally, I don't believe that being pissy or passive aggressive are efficient ways of getting a point across; however, to directly answer your question, no. This Discord server isn't here so that Arbiters can be passive aggressive to players; it's here to stay more connected and communicate more casually with players in PB&M.

Reason I ask is there was an Arbiter who got demoted for doing exactly this and Riot caught them out on it and they got demoted. To Arbit on a platform that Riot doesn't monitor just seems to lend to this behavior taking place without consequence for you guys.

There's nothing stopping Riot from infiltrating the Discord channel with an alternate account. But they don't even have to, there's some Rioters keeping up with it anyway.
