I imagine you can get away with this once or twice, but I'd suggest not doing it too often or it begins to look a bit like spam and appear a bit unsportsmanlike. It's one of those cases where, in my personal opinion, frequency and the state of the game matters.
If people seem aggravated by it, don't continue to do it that game. If people seem amused or are responding back similarly in good spirits, I see no real issue.
Do note, however, that this is my personal opinion, and I can't promise that the rest of the community will necessarily agree with me.
Meh... some people will get very salty over that and report you. If enough people report you, the system will learn that the community considers it offensive and you will eventually be punished. This is all just my take on it, nothing I say is 100% factual.
