Banned for botting?

My friend got banned for botting. Now I know for a fact hes not a bot. What should I tell him to do about it? I got him to pick up the game, and he's been learning how to play for a few months now. He sticks with 3v3 as his preferred game mode. Only thing I can think is he got reported for being a bot since he doesn't chat? The thing is he gets kind of ragey so I told him just to hit /mute all, as a safety precaution to avoid a ban... and apparently, I told him wrong? Can anyone clarify, how this sort of thing could happen?

Tell your friend to send in a ticket....

At times I know people find them confusing so:

Pick the closest to what you need.

Be Polite.

Be precise about any info you give them.

Explain the situation but not overly much.

Check and make sure e-mail is correct.

Finally, try not to bump the ticket.

Good Luck to your friend!

Yeah, sending in a ticket will probably get him unbanned. I've seen Riot overturn a few of these in the last couple months, thanking the players and saying they're fine-tuning the system and every bit of info on false bans helps. He'll also get some small sort of compensation from what I've seen, like a chest and a key or something.

It's less that Riot thinks your friend IS a bot, and more that they think he USES bots/scripts.

Riot doesn't like to admit it, but there's lots of evidence to suggest that their methods of discovering botters/scripters is imperfect. So yeah, make a support ticket.

Of course, if your friend downloaded some scripts out of curiosity or something, he's probably just screwed. They don't take kindly to that sort of thing.
