Why do people not care if they win ranked games.

So I have been having this issue lately where my teammates in ranked are trolling and playing "just to have fun" and I am playing to win and improve and honestly it has been a huge tilted cause my support will play sona for the first time and literally walk into them. flash auto and die then type "LOL" in the chat. It is just a rinse and repeat cycle of trolls and people who don't care. I am curious if anyone else has this issue or why people troll in ranked games. Like if you wanna troll and have fun and don't care if you lose why not just go play norms? Please if anyone could get me an answer or tell me what to do to help myself. If you're response is going to be "stop playing to improve and just have fun" then please don't bother responding. i want serious advice

they probably aren't saying "stop playing to improve" they're saying "stop complaining when you lose" which is something I get told. I basically need to not care about the outcome of the game so long as I get better in order to not go insane. remember skill increase is not linked to rise in rank. trolls are fun. you should learn to have a bit more fun in the game even if it means participating in the trolling. like let me give you an example game. we all wanted mid lane (back in the days before flex queue with the planned queue groups) and we all joined a game with 5 mid lanes stacked. we then all went to mid lane, hid in the bush. and dove the enemy mid laner repeatedly under tower. we'd usually die and he got more fed as he went and we lost, but it was a blast just messing around.

They probably prefer trolling in ranked because the tears are so much saltier. Trolls go for frustration and anger. Of course they're gonna choose to troll in ranked, it would just be pointless to troll people in norms.

The only time I will stop caring is if I am carrying my team and they continually refuse to listen to my pings or text direction and we continue to throw because of it. Like really...you people don’t even have to go through the trouble and deciding what the best play is at the time...I am telling you!! At that point though I hate losing...I am fine with it as the players on my team do not deserve a win.

I agree with Telephone Booth. It seems like the trolling is more so in ranked and especially during placements or promos. I try to be understanding sometimes because remember, we are playing with kids or maybe ourselves are kids. Gaming is an outlet for most to de-stress and not think about the outside for a little bit. We don't know whats going on in someone else's life. I know League is a place where I blow off some steam from time to time. Maybe pre-mades would be more your style so you don't have to worry about the trolls. Hope this helps.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I’m not trying to troll. For me winning is fun. Losing is not. I’m trying to get better but if i wanna troll I go with my friends into a norms and relax and chill and play Vayne jg or whatever. Not in ranked. Ranked is where I take the game seriously and try to win
