Surrendering

Im almost 90% sure its just me, but whenever I attempt to surrender in a clearly lost match, my team just never surrenders. Our base could literally be swarming with baron empowered minions while the opposing team is killing our nexus turrets and they STILL wouldn't surrender. I'm aware that's not the greatest example, but it's to get my point across. What infuriates me more though, is that if my team and I were absolutely dominating the other team, they would surrender the second they got the chance, which makes no sense to me. If they have the common sense to surrender when they've clearly lost, why don't you??? Why not save the extra couple of minutes? I'd really appreciate the extra minute of my time, even if you don't.
