Autofill creates a toxic environment.

Moral of the story: 2 players got autofilled, being Rengar and Riven. Riven insisted that they "Pick troll picks bot since they're not going to give us our roles", so she locked in Riven support, and Rengar made the decision of going jungle ANYWAYS, even though the person who was assigned jungle said "No". Love this community man, can't tell you how many times I get this in champion select.

Was it really so long ago that people were expected to be reasonably capable in all 5 roles when playing ranked?

I distinctly recall a certain "Pick order" to choose lanes in the ranked queue. You know, the one where everyone who picked after the first person was an autofill.

Enjoy eating either a loss of your ELO, time, or likely a combination of both.

You can't dodge or you automatically lose your series and some LP, and if you have to do it twice in a day, that's a 30 min lockout of time wasted. If the game starts, you are forced to play through two people feeding, and if you decide to do something more worthwhile with your time, you lose access to rewards, and possibly eat a ban because someone else decided to ruin 4 peoples' game.

Honestly this community has literally changed me as a person and I am much more cynical and distrusting of people after being subject to shit like the OP's experience for years on a near-constant basis.

true, especially in lower levels

Maybe one free queue dodge a day for ranked games with higher punishments for ranked queue dodges after that free one is used?

Only for ranked, I really don't think it should be necessary for normal. Just a half-hearted suggestion.

Just report both of them. Yeah the issue is that removing autofill would mean having to wait 30minutes in queue until a support main wants to play. The thing is that yeah, an autofilled player will certainly not carry the game, but he should use this situation to try and learn other champions and overall get better. If they don't want to get autofilled then they have to try and play support for a game or two, with the intent of learning something new, focusing on macro and things like that, that way they'll be autofill protected

Here is a quote from the summoner's code :

Be open minded when considering the needs of your team. If you're the last one to pick, try to fill a niche in your team that hasn't already been filled. If everyone's picked and something stands out as a deficiency in your team composition, try asking for another player to fill the gap, or change roles to embrace that responsibility yourself. Remember, that by taking on a role you don't normally play, you'll learn more about unfamiliar champions and increase your own skill level.

That's why I main support. Because I can get it easy. Also because Thresh is really fun.
