So how exactly does chat restriction work?

This isn't a thread about why I got chat restricted I perfectly know why. It's just HOW. I was playing on one of my accounts for about a month and I non stopped BM'd in chat, cussed, made homophobic remarks ETC ETC you know the works. Over 100 games and not a SINGLE chat restriction or ban. OK. But on the account I'm on right now not a single game for MONTHS and the very first game I played on it I got a 10 game chat restriction. WHAT? That doesn't even make any sense. What I said was this:

This is what I said that got me chat restricted on the account I'm playing on right now. One game in months. So if THIS got me chat restricted why didn't my other account who says FAR worse things get chat restricted? I'm deeply confused

as he said he knows why he asks how. he said he flamed over 100 games and nothing happened but then he switched accounts and got banned here

I'm not sure I believe he was never punished on his other account, but that is besides the point.

Slurs can trigger the system real quick like, if you are reported for it.

i still wish for riot to "buff" the system. right now it only gives you feedback that someone got banned when your report was the last one. this gives many ppl (even myself even tho i got the message 1 time) the feeling that the report system barely does anything. just make it this way: when you report someone and this person gets banned in the next 24h you get the message that SOMEONE (no names needed) got banned.

I agree. 'twould be nice to see a little more feedback.

Ancestrally, I am ~75% Irish and the rest is various European ethnic groups all jumbled together!

As for my name... Back when WoW:WotLK came out I used google translate to pick a name for my Death Knight... It has stuck with me ever since!

i like both english and german. and korean and japanese but thats about it.

as far as i can tell, most ppl in my age prefer english or japanese. majority of my german friends play LoL on english and watch stuff on english even tho it exists on german so yea :D

I speak both English and Arabic fluently.

Actually I would prefer if it was in the last week, and that it said:

A player you reported within the last week has been reviewed by the Player Behavior Systems. Depending on how many strikes this player has already received, their punishment may be any one of the following:

1st strike - 10 game chat ban 2nd strike - 25 game chat ban 3rd strike - 14 day full ban 4th strike - perma

It implies justice is being done, but doesn't specify the exact punishment. And also has an added bonus of reminding the player more readily what the punishment tiers are.

what a great crybaby system riot got going. instead of leaving on chat censor, everyone leaves it off and instead, just punish people who use profanity. people who leave it off are saying they want to see profanity and want to be able to see themselves use profanity. then they get to report people for doing it.

It is not about profanity. Its about toxicity and in some cases hate speech.

"PlayerA is the worst human being on the planet, who's existence should not have been."

Doesn't contain profanity and won't get picked up by the chat filter. But it is basically the same as telling someone to kill themselves, and is definitely punishable.

"Wow, holy-s$&t! PlayerA, nice skillshot!"

Got profanity, but its not directed at anyone, and the statement itself is not hostile or toxic. Not punishable.

before we had chatlogs i got 5 games chatrestrict on this account for really no reason. while on my main i never got anything.

Time passed between games is irrelevant. What matters is the percentage of games you're reported in. The account you're on presumably was not far away from a restrict when it was left. And Riot has a zero tolerance policy on hate speech, so that didn't help.

I reported this dude for the n bomb within 3 seconds of the end screen and 5 seconds later he was on a 14 day ban. Sometimes you can get away with a hate word once, I had one guy drop the n bomb and didn't get banned, but pretty much every time you report for that they get instabanned.

My theory is you can drop the n bomb once, but in the next game you get bant.

I'm just going to assume it's for swearing, but yeah thats pretty damn retarded to get a restriction when they actually antagonized me entire game, and wow if only you could see the bs they did to my early game jungle I didn't even complain about in log...
