Think about it; toxicity must be so well filtered we need to talk to each other as if we are talking to toddlers And chidish behavior is excused, like AFK in game after losing lane, or run around stealing JG farm because he didnt gank you at 3 minutes into the game after uve died 5 times.
No, afk is not excused, nor is stealing your jungler's monsters and leaving your lane, both are reportable. You don't need to sound like a toddler to be civil.
From my experience the people who claim that this game is for little children and that we have to talk like little children to not get punished are usually the ones who would rather act up and behave poorly (i.e. act like a child) than behave like a decent human being (i.e. like a mature adult). I've been playing since S2 and use chat frequently in some of my games and I have never been warned nor banned. How? Because I don't do or say things that I know will get me in trouble. You don't have to speak in kid terms to not get in trouble-as long as you're not being a jerk (i.e. not saying and/or doing things that you know will get you in trouble) and try to ignore the trolling jerks when they refuse to stop acting up then you won't get punished.
Also, gameplay trolls do get banned but it's not as widespread because the systems have to make sure that the person in question is actually intentionally trolling and not just having a bad game. Here's an example of a gameplay troll getting banned.
Its true, I basically refer to the game as a "Moba for Preschoolers" because alot of these kids are so coddled and feel so self important. They will have a complete and total meltdown if you dont reinforce that thier mommy told them how perfect they are. And that the world revolves around THEM. I just got out of a game where my adc runs in, gets herself killed, then while she is DEAD/Waiting at spawn. I take a minion wave and see "OMG STOP TAKING MY CS!!!!" From my adc. This while she is still waiting in respawn or at base. So she proceeds to throw a complete tantrum, abandons her lane (Bot) and then tries to report me for "afk" anytime I try and get something from the shop. Meanwhile still throwing her complete tantrum over the loss of a few minions that she couldnt claim anyways.
These people are acting Like toddlers, so yeah. I can see why Riot wants us to watch our language as if they are toddlers, BECAUSE THEY ARE. And to these entitled litttle snot-suckers: GET OVER YOURSELF. you are not special, the world doesnt revolve around you. You are not the perfect little snowflake your mommy convinced you you are. You want to act like a toddler, I will treat you like one. which means even if I am support, I WILL take your minions. Because CS is for grown-ups, not tantrum-babies who get mad someone took thier kill during a clusterf**k of a teamfight. (the kind where its just an indistinguishable mass of bodies untill the the dust settles and you hear someone scream "OMG U TOOK MY KILLS!")

LoL is not for children. The game is far too complex, tactical, deliberate and slow for a child to enjoy.
That being said; The rules are INCREDIBLY hyper draconian so on that end, I tend to agree with the original poster.
