Beneficial idea for ranked.

remove all chat: details on why:

ALL CHAT: positive uses: saying things like "wp, gj, nice combo, nice outplay", asking things like "how did that kill me, i Q'd you" which could be replied with "CC cant stop Vi ult,, its condiered an unstoppable movement".

kay, we have few things that could be positive here, but lets face it. these things are scarcly said. from my almost 4 years experience in this game. they are rare statements.

****negative uses: arguing with the enemy (no all chat, cant do it)

complaining about allies (well you cant really complain about allies, to your allies., i mean you can and people do, but they use all chat to do it, to boost their ego. they want to complain about allies, while letting the enemy know "its not my fault").

_how often do people negatively use all chat? well in 4 years of playing this game i can say with a straight face atleast 90% of my games, involve negative conduct being conducted in all chat. _

REMOVING ALL CHAT IS REMOVING A TOOL ABUSED BY TOXIC INDIVIDUALS. THE POSITIVES ARE HEAVILY OUTWEIGHED BY THE NEGATIVES.

IF YOURE GOING TO COMMNET WITH SOME ALONG THE LINES OF:

"dont remove it, because it doesnt hurt you if you mute it" "dont remove it, because i use it respectuflly" "dont remove it, because theyll find a different outlet"

DONT BOTHER. THESE ARGUEMENTS ARE ILLOGICAL.

FEW PEOPLE USING IT RESPECTFULLY DOESNT MEAN MAJORITY OF USERS DO.

MUTING IT DOESNT FIX THE PROBLEM, WHEN YOUR ALLIES ARE BUSY ARGUEING IN ALL CHAT. TEAM GAME, ALLIES BUSY TYPING IN ALL CHAT NEGATIVELY IMPACTS YOUR GAME. ATLEAST IN TEAM CHAT EVERYONE IS LIKELY TO MUTE THE GUY, IN ALL CHAT THE ENEMY IS LIKELY (THIS IS FROM EXPERIENCE), TO TILT THE INDIVIDUAL CRYING FURTHER BY PICKING A SIDE AND ADDING FIRE TO THE FLAME.

lets remove this ridiculous feature from ranked. .

All chat is muted by default. I see no reason to go any further and remove it.

no reason to remove a tool primarily used to violate the rules of the game?

my years of playing this game : occasionally "wp, nice combo. nice outplay", once in awhile ull see that typed in all chat. atleast 90% of games: all chat is loaded with negatives.

it being muted by default doesnt change what the tool is primarily used for.

Then leave it muted.

But there are others, myself included, that actually use all chat occasionally for friendly banter and small talk.

Just because you don't want to use all chat doesn't mean that no one should. Just keep it muted. It's not going to affect your gameplay because tactical discussions are not going to be made in all chat, so you should be fine.

youre wrong. its not going to affect my gameplay? TEAM GAME.

allies and enemies arguing with each other in all chat? AFFECTS MY GAME.

weather i can see it or not, my tilted allies who are too busy typing to the enemy most certainly affects my game.

all chat brings 10,000 X the negative impact compared to a positive.

People who are going to be arguing in all chat are not suddenly going to be nice and kind just because all chat is unavailable. They'll just find a different outlet.

A tool should not be removed just because some people misuse it. You remove the people who misuse the tool.

because lets look at it logically:

when negatively using all chat its one of 2 things: beyond 99% of the time: 1: arguing with the enemy (no all chat, cant do it)

2: complaining about allies (well you cant really complain about allies, to your allies., i mean you can and people do, but they use all chat to do it, to boost their ego. they want to complain about allies, while letting the enemy know "its not my fault").

the fact is all chat enables more problems than it prevents.

Yeah. I've seen some people constantly complain about their circumstances in team chat.

Reporting someone for disagreeing with you is only wasting the mods time.

But I agree with him. I have had very good experiences with all chat, despite the occasional negativity.

lmao you say occasional. good one. but yes, under the rules of the boards, harassment is not allowed. telling an individual i dont wish to speak to him, and him continuing to try to speak with me is most certainly harassment, especially considering i cant mute him. so i am reporting. the rules are rules and if the mods do their jobs correctly, he will be penalized.

That's not how the boards work. It's a public forum. You can report people but I am neither insulting you nor being offensive. I am merely disagreeing with you. So your report is unlikely to get me in any trouble.

If you don't wish to speak with me, you have the option of not posting. But like I said before, this is a public board for people to exchange opinions. Every person is allowed to comment on other people's posts as long as they keep it civil, relevant to what they're replying to, and non-offensive. Me replying with my own opinions about your comment is not harassment.

Isn't threatening to report a sign of harassment? Both in game and on the boards. If you did this in game enough times, all chat or no, you would wind up in the punishment line.

Personally I can't believe you took such an opinion to heart because you weren't agreed with. That happens!

the guy has his illogical opinion, that is fine. i told him im done discussing, he continued to harass me over it.

if i followed you down the street trying to talk to you, after you made is abundantly clear you didnt wish to speak to me, multiple times. i'd be arrested and charged with harassment.

same thing here. the guy continuously kept bothering me after i made it abundantly clear i had no wish to speak with him. additionally, a lot of his statements were off-topic.

im done discussing this, your entire statement is off topic and i no longer wish to speak with you. leave me alone.

That still doesn't dismiss you from threatening to report...repeatedly. It's spamming comments and it's harassing in its own way. If you didn't wish to continue to talk, all you had to do was not reply. I do that often where I question if I should rebut to a comment then halfway through I just tell myself never mind and move on.

While my comment may be off topic from the intended post, your numerous threats to report for harassment are both off topic and not necessary.

You don't just get to claim you're being harassed and kick anyone that disagrees with you off your thread. They are being respectful and constructive with their comments, so if you are unwilling to have a discussion here I'll just close the thread.

You know that is also a strategy right? I use it constantly in my games when i JG. It's not hard to tilt somone after ganking that lane 4 times and asking why is your JG not helping you in all chat. Tilting the enemy team can give you an easy win.

It depends on if you spam it or not. Since most of the time it's Yasuo or Riven top just that once sentence will tilt them for the rest of the game. Unless you spam it for 10 minute straight it's not ban able.

Given that the thread has quite a few comments pertaining the boards moderation, I would recommend you make a post about your questions of how the boards are moderated in the "Boards Community & Moderation" if you want to continue that line of argument. You're free to ask over there why the reports against me are not giving you your desired result. But getting back on track,

Are illogical arguments? Keeping it muted from the start prevents you from being exposed to allchat. Other people, myself included, would rather it stay around so that we can continue to make good use of it. And tilted players are still going to be tilted regardless of allchat.
