Alright, I understand the concept behind leaver buster and I'm okay with how that works. Here's my situation, I'm a 28 year old professional and have been playing league since it came out. The reality is the way leaver buster works is disproportionately harsh on people in my situation. I love league, but in my current profession there are time I'm going to leave games and I can't really ensure that I don't ever leave a game. To compound this, the reason I'm still able to play league is because it fits nicely into hour time slots. The impact of leaver buster severely hurts my ability to make time for a league game. A 5 game 20 minute penalty would have been no problem when I was in college but now I'm finding it takes me several weeks to shake the penalty and I'm not able to play while it's in effect. Perhaps it's time for me to move on with my life but I think there is a better alternative. Could Riot put a hard time limit on the penalties regardless of whether you actually play? A 20 minute wait translates to a nearly complete ban for me. I think it would equally serve Riots agenda if the penalty was waived after a week of no play. Recently business has been slow so it hasn't been too much a problem, but as we move into the summer months I"m concerned I'll be locked out all summer. A one week cap would prevent this. I don't leave games too often, but I'm just finding this to be really hard to work around.

DO NOT start a game if you wont be able to finish it, and you wont get banned. You've been playing since it came out, so you should know that. Riot wont change the rules so you can abandon games easier.

Leaverbuster is there to stop people from leaving games.

When you leave, you're literally saying to 9 other real people that "your time is more important that theirs is."

That's just wrong.

I'd like to empathize, but it sounds like it's working as intended.

I also am someone who has been short of time and has been very frustrated by the fact that my games are ruined by people who que up when they know there's a reasonable probability that they will have to leave. To make it worse I never play when I might have to afk, so it adds insult to injury when someone ques up and then afks. I've repeatedly only had time for 2-3 games a week sometimes, and have actually had afks ruin 2 of those games.

The leavebuster penalties should be FAR more, and should do something to compensate the people who have their games ruined.

Look, if a client calls me at 7pm because their abusive ex husband is at the door and they need to know what to do next; I HAVE to take that call. Keyword here is professional (I also run my own firm), as in I don't always know when something might come up. I get it if League is only designed for college students who don't really have real life issues come up. Like I said, it's not stopping people in my position from playing and certainly doesn't stop them from AFKing.
