No, this post isn't complaining about the tank meta, nor is it an anti-circlejerk-circlejerk about Ori. This post is to remind people to say (say it with me emphatically), "FUCK THE META."

Seriously, people are so caught up in the meta in low elo that they will fight with their own teammates over petty things like off meta supports. As I climbed to higher and higher elo, the people who complained about my off meta supports grew more and more rare. Is this correlation a coincidence? Maybe. But, fuck the meta. Play what you want and win with it. Let your teammates play what they want, and let them win with it.

I climbed to g1 with yorick support, probably hundreds of my teammates cussed me out in champ select for picking it.

I DON'T WANT THAT FOR OTHER PEOPLE. Just fuck the meta. Fuck it. You don't need it. Your team doesn't need it. Nobody but the top .1% needs it.

I'd take a yorick support. I've played gnar support before and it's fun.

As someone who plays mostly support with meta picks (lulu, janna, thresh (hey, its what i like)). I love seeing off meta supports on the other team. Sometimes i get to punish them for being so crazy, snd other times it catches me off guard with how viable an off meta pick can be. Either way it is always fun for me to face an off meta support. Personally i feel that if a champion cant fill two roles or hold there own in two different lanes, that champ needs to be worked on. If jungle, adc, and support were playstyles instead of just a list of champions i think the game would be better for it.

I think its more of as you climb, people have realized how unproductive it is to try and change their teammates by the time they make it to high gold. I.E. I get a sona top laner, I dont say shit, I just either dodge, or risk it if by some chance the enemy team comp looks just as troll.

But I mean... all the meta is is whatever the most effective tactics available are... and the game is always easier if you're following it. If you arent that try hard, then more power to ya, but ya might get dodged lol.

I do understand that some people just have to be different and just refuse to play stuff that is proven to be good.

Me, as a main support, basically do only play like 2 different champs, which is thresh, in case i do not know yet, if my team needs engage, peel or cc, janna (most played), if i know that botlane will be a hard matchup or my team already has 2 meele cc tanks.

There is literally no reason to play stuff like yorick, that offers literally nothing to my team but a (pretty useless) terrain that almost every champ can get out of anyway.

Only reason because u get flamed less at higher ranks, is, that people just learned that telling others what to play is just not an option, since they do not care anyway.
