About Leaver Busters

Hi, i recently got a leaver-buster from wanting to play a game of league on ranked and as i was waiting in the loading screen, the game would not register for me and now i have a leaver-buster. I understand in ranked it's more severe as far as the consequences go, however, can't i just wait out the time in real time as opposed to waiting for the game to start on the Client? I don't know if this is to adhere to your punishment specifically, but after 20 minutes or so after i accidentally don't hit "accept", once, it seems the consequences become more severe in ranked and I then have to wait out 20 minutes again. It is understandable in ranked but if someone just didn't connect because of personal computer issues, then something should be changed. After having to deal with that the first time, i just close my laptop immediately and give up playing the game entirely and play something else. I truly do love the game, i do not ever leave my games purposefully. it's usually always my internet connection, my client is buggy, or the game just won't load in. I'm normally not toxic toward anybody, as i usually play with others and play full duration games with the exception of a few surrenders, but other than that i don't afk willingly. Now i want a good, clean discussion as to what i can do, i personally think the rules should be changed that i just wait like a day or 2 to play as opposed to waiting in the lobby not being able to play with friends for 5 match-made games. I'd rather tell them that i cannot play with them. Aside from that, that is my personal viewpoint and problem over the matter, I hope this gets an answer soon from hopefully a RIOT employee.

usually the system has a grace buffer in place

normally you won't get a leaver buster unless you are repeatedly leaving games

the grace buffer is just that, you earn it as you play games (and stay connected to them)

when you dc out of a game (or never properly connect in the first place) it eats up that buffer

now you mentioned that it is either your internet or a client problem

  1. Run the Hextech repair tool, if need be do either a force repatch or reinstall from here. Should this not fix the issue try doing a clean reinstall

  2. Check w your ISP about better internet. Most games now require about a 15Mb/s download speed for stable online gaming. If you have multiple devices on your internet that will eat up some of that speed (so get more if you are able). Also make sure your pc is hard wired into your internet modem/router. And you may want to look into seeing if you are able to get a newer modem/router for your internet...they tend to derp put after about 3-5 years.

Should all of this still not fix your problem, then try submitting a ticket and see what other options Riot themselves can provide

I've seen people with very nice computers get bug splats while playing league. Riot should be identifying and remedying the situation. Riot should not be flagging their accounts with leaverbuster.
