"Harrassment: Verbal Abuse" is overused and it's getting stupid

Evidently saying in all chat "Report Gnar please for going AFK" is now harassment/verbal abuse. Like sorry for labeling you as an AFK Gnar but you were AFK for the majority of the game and returned for like the final minute.

This is the definition of the game in a nutshell, its toxicity or afk, feeding lmaooo.

It is considered harassment. Don't do it. It will most likely make the player (or his friends) angry at you and cause new problems or make existing ones worse, so I don't advise it even if it wasn't considered harassment.

Punishment is calculated per match, not per report, so multiple reports aren't needed anyway.

First off: One report in a single game has the same effect as nine. So there's really no need to ask for reports.

Now... as to whether or not it is harassment/verbal abuse... I've recently seen a redpost, that clarified that asking for reports by itself is not a punishable offense. It depends a lot on context and the way you say it. Some people do say it with the intention of being passive aggressive. This is the most obvious when it's unwarranted reports, á la "omfg, report that scrub ashe please". So yeah, it's probably a good idea to keep that in mind for the future.

I was playing Rammus and got invaded and killed by J4 twice in the space of 3 minutes. When he did it a third time, I said something that got me reported.

I called him a stinker. Yes, I said the s word.

  1. Multiple reports per game don't add up against people.
  2. It's behavioral patterns that gets punished. 1 AFK or Report for it isn't going to do anything, but it will start them down the process if they keep doing it.\
  3. I don't ask for reports in game. It's a waste of time and is ALWAYS a problem. If someone goes afk and then comes back, and maybe people should know about that... I say in the end game, Gnar was AFK most of the game, report plz. That's kind of a big maybe though, cause mostly you should just report them. This isn't vigilante justice, it's a way to make our community better.
  4. Warnings, are just that. I receive them all the time because I curse, A LOT, and if the "offensive language' box is checked, I get one. These haven't lead to any additional punishments. it simply "sees" the language, and triggers the warning. It doesn't go further than that because even though I'm cursing, I'm fairly positive about it.

Deep breath... everything will be OK.
