So I know I'm gonna get downvote nuked to hell and back for this but

I agree with almost everything Riot and Riot's employees have done with regards to the recent controversy. Videogame culture is a toxic cesspool of misogyny, and the industry is hardly better.

I'm sure riot is as aware as I am that the response on the boards and on Reddit has more to do with the type of player that tends to populate the boards/Reddit or is willing to go dig them up to comment on a situation on this than an actual reflection of the beliefs of the playerbase as a whole, and that taking steps to combat the rampant misogyny in-game, in the community, and in the industry would be the right thing to do even if the entire damn playerbase yelled at them for it.

It's gotten to the point where I'm almost embarrassed to say I play league, what with the overall aesthetic of the in-game art, the well earned reputation of the playerbase, and the culture of thecompetitive gaming community as a whole.

Again, I know the boards are gonna tear me several new ones for this, but it has to be said. I'm fucking tired of only seeing the most unpleasant, loudest voices chase everyone out of the room, and I'll say my piece even if they do everything they can to make me regret it.

Misandry is not the answer to misoginy.

Misoginy is perpetrated by asshole that will just use misandry as a weapon to keep doing what they are already doing. Meanwhile, the majority is respectful people are going to needlessly suffer from the whole situation.

D.Klein could have targetted the sexist assholes with his rant and death wishes, but he chose to target everyone disagreeing with him and the whole male gender along with it. That's just wrong, no matter what.

I disagree, but you can have whatever opinion you want I guess, I'll give you an upvote to hopefully dampen the hundreds of others you're gonna get, good lucky with that new asshole!

You can think whatever you want, but theres no "rampant misogyny". Stop spreading lies. Is there toxicity in the community? Yes, but thats every community. Is there toxicity in the responses and fallout of the event? Yes, but people are rightfully pissed.

While i disagree with the majority opinion that the rioter should be fired, HE is the source of the current toxicity. His own comments were complete shit, to be frank, and the responses are given back with the same toxicity he gave out. Im not saying thats right, and i also dont agree he should be fired, but to be as blatantly stupid as he was and blanket call the community sexist and misogynistic for the response, using a strawman for your argument, entirely misses the point.

Can you sum up your point possibly? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to achieve here.

Its essentially a neomarxist (or SJW) critique that is baseless.

All the gullible types fall for the identity politics "im a victim" routine, and as a result, everything is blank-ist or blank-phobic until proven not, and even then it still is.
