A question of honor.

So I got trolled pretty hard in a game a few months ago on my OTP account (hesitating to call it a smurf since I'm only silver.) And I raged out, getting a chat restriction and dropped to honor level 0. It's taken that entire time (months) to get to the first checkpoint of honor level 1.

As you can see, my main account is honor level 4. I'm not a generally toxic person, but when someone makes it their mission to annoy the crap out of me all game, yeah I'm gonna let them know exactly what sort of disgusting inanimate object I think they best resemble.

All this to say, I think the honor system / punishment system is a bit too binary in nature. It either treats you like a saint or it treats you like satan, there doesn't seem to be much middle ground.

yeah, the problem is that the system lets people get away with being unsportsmanlike for ages.

it sets up unrealistic expectations, enforces bad habits, and after punishment it feels unfair. after all, everyone else is still just as toxic as ever, but now only you have to behave.

I've always had great honor. I don't rage-quit(ever.). I make use of the mute button instead of retaliating against childish quarrels instead of letting it distract me from what I'm doing(playing a game). Calling them an inanimate object is definitely overboard(Let's take a few steps back here, #reality).

-Why are you rage-quitting? -Why are you punishing the 3 other teammates? -Why are you punishing anybody?

It's certainly starting to sound like YOU are the toxic one here...

Ease up on the intensity. Slow the emotions down.

Here's an intense analogy: Crime and Punishment. Imagine a guy robbing a liquor store and police getting pissed and just blowing it up instead. Just to teach him a lesson(screw the customers and staff). Doesn't equate. Doesn't relate anyway though, because you shouldn't be worried about punishing people(YOU report, RIOT punishes).
