Why does in-game all chat exist?

No, really. Why is all chat even a thing? When has it EVER been useful to the game? I've only ever seen people either (A): using it to bond or (B): being toxic to their team/the enemy team. Neither of these things really needs to be possible in game- you can do them in the end game screen.

I think all chat is going to be a problem as long as it exists. You can say ANYTHING you want to ANYBODY you want, and mute isn't enough to stop that because people are going to retaliate almost every single time. Any thoughts?

It exists for those players capable of using it productively.

It's not the tool's fault if its users are idiots.

If you don't like it, just disable it in the settings.

if you got time to use /ALL chat during a game...I'm guessing you're making use of it to congratulate your team mates and improve their moods.

OR...you're using it to convey your deepest sympathies to the other team's champ you just nuked.

During a game I don't need to mute anyone...I just hit <enter> and drag the title bar of the chat box to the bottom of my screen so I can't be bothered to read any smack talk or become disturbed by some asshat who thinks I care & I'm not distracted by it if they try.

Smart pings can handle anything else needed during a game.

it's entirely up to you how you handle such things...

As part of any SPORT, you have to talk a bunch of shit on the other team. ESPORTS are no different.
