Chat Bans

Can you really get perma banned after only a few chat restrictions? I really don't think this is a solution, it won't change anything, and riot is stupid for believing it will. Toxic people are toxic, I know plenty of them, and I myself was toxic, a perma ban doesn't matter to you when you're blind with rage, you're just going to spam hate with 0 care. A perma ban just means a new account will be created for the rager who will start all over. Perma bans are most likely not an incentive to stop playing as you can simply make a new account. Here is the real solution: Permanently disable chat for the toxic person. No regular person would be driven to create a whole new account because of this, and it completely solves toxicity. Perma ban solves nothing, a majority of players wouldn't want to just quit and would either buy or create an account. Frankly, perma ban seems kind of childish, like riot is angry and wants to hit back at toxic individuals. Why would you implement something blatantly temporary and ineffective when there is a much simpler solution that keeps all parties happy?

For the record: I have never been perma banned, feel free to look at my summoner icon. I just feel that riot is acting really rashly and stupidly.

Rashly? No. Stupidly? That's just being insulting.

League had, and still does, a very bad reputation due to the vile nature of many of those that played it. I started in November 2015 well aware of what I was about to encounter. It didn't take long to be proven correctly how crappy people here can be. A little reading showed me that Riot was well aware of this and took steps to put a stop to it. It turns out that punishments were not as effective in the past and things were changed to even it up. Now, four strikes and you're out. I only wish some other online games were as strict as League is (I'm looking at you, WoW.)

Frankly, if a twenty five game chat restriction doesn't tell you to shape up, you have issues. If a fourteen day ban doesn't work either, you don't belong here.

Agree with your proposed solution of banning from in game chat. Infact I go ahead & suggest remove the chat during game & allow it before & after the game, in lobbies and in chat rooms.

The game is absolutely playable with pings.
