Why in the hell should I EVER rejoin a game?

About 10 minutes ago, I won a game. it was a rough game to say the least. ~16 mins in, I had a weird power outage where I lost power for half a second. It took me about ten minutes to get back in, as my computer is quite slow to start and I was having some client issues. When I finally came back, our team was losing pretty hard. However, they defended hard and gave me some room to buy some items, farm up, and catch back up again. Eventually, we were winning fights again and it ultimately ended in a victory for my own. I was quite happy, until I realized that I lost 18 LP. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed out.

This begs the question...why should I ever join back if I DC? Why shouldn't I just start up Overwatch or something? I'm going to be punished anyways.

The fuck gives?

Don't rejoin, just uninstall because your team is going to report you regardless... this is not League of Legends.. this is League of offended millennials looking to report.

Because it would be unfair for the rest of your team.

I'd have to look back at my match history to see if I actually lost LP or not for it but I've had this happen as well.

Computer decided to update in the middle of a match, came back five minutes later, won the match, and got the notification that I was ineligible for rewards from the match due to the win.

I'm okay with rejoining simply because I don't want to be a dick to my team, and I'm pretty much okay with not getting anything for it, but if you LOSE LP after still coming back, that's ridiculous.

So it has to do with afk detection. It determined you were afk due to this. While you are an unfortunate victim and came back to the game and contributed to the win again, you have to understand why it is there.

It is in place to prevent people from leaving, coming back and barely contributing and getting lp for it. As a clearer example here: Riven leaves at 5 minutes because of rage. It isn't gg though. Your bot gets fed, jg is covering top and farming when it is pushed and mid is even. You are pushing and winning a 4v5. Fast forward. You just aced the enemy and are pushing the rushing to their base to finish. Suddenly "A summoner has reconnected." Riven came back, 10 minutes later, sees the dead enemy team tps to a super minion in their base and hits the nexus turret. Your team wins.

Would it be right for the Riven to get LP for the hard work your team did? Of course not. It is hard to determine why someone left though. So it is better to use a blanket cover for this.

Rejoin the game so you dont get banned for leaving, maybe?

Or because if you reboot/relaunch fast in a lot of case,s you can still win?
