The next time you're thinking of flaming that troll, remember...

You would be doing that troll a favor.

  1. The troll wants to get a reaction out of you, that's why he does it in the first place
  2. Keeping 1. In mind, you're just opening yourself up for the troll to report you for your easily punishable chat.

It's continually surprising to me how many people don't grasp this lesson. It used to be a fundamental bit of knowledge for effectively navigating the internet, but I guess people don't really think about it as much these days.

  1. by not responding to them they will start to dish out some serious words which then can be used against them when filing the report, ensuring a ban

I'd add one more:

  1. There's like, less than a 1% chance that flaming the feeder/troll makes them stop trolling/feeding and play better. There's a greater than 1% chance that it makes your team tilt and makes it less likely for you to win though.

And yet some people would call you a pussy or SJW for not "standing up for yourself" to the troll lol. It's sad. Everything is so distorted these days. I guess not really, it's more you never know who you're talking to on a video game forum. They might just be clueless emotional pubescent kids.
