Pros and Cons of talking Trash vs Helping your team.

Goal: To win a match

Method: Trash Talking

Examples: 1.) "Go Uninstall Leauge" 2.) "Never play that Champ again" 3.) "Ill do your mom" **anything about anyone's mothers 4.) "Go kill yourself in real life" 5.) " Wow you suck"

Pros: 1.) You think you feel good about yourself and got your socks off by harassing another player

Cons: 1.) You may succeed in getting that player to log off. Thus highly more probable to lose. 2.) If they do actually kill themselves and the family asks for the chat log of the game their child plays. You go to Jail. 3.) If you constantly harass people you have committed a real life crime. States recognize both misdemeanor and felony forms of harassment.

The crime of harassment (which can include stalking, hate crimes, and cyberbullying) occurs when one person acts in a way designed to annoy, provoke, threaten, or otherwise cause another person emotional distress. State laws and some federal laws identify multiple ways in which harassment can be committed.

For most crimes, the prosecutor need only show that the defendant did an act that the law has made illegal. The defendant need not have intended the consequences that result. For example, when someone drives recklessly and causes an accident resulting in death, the driver can be charged with vehicular manslaughter because of his driving, even though he didn’t intend to cause an accident or death.

But many crimes, including harassment, require “specific intent,” which is intending the specific act that one is charged with. This means that the prosecutor must show that the defendant did or said something with the intent that the communication would harass the victim. The person may intend to annoy or intimidate the victim, or the words may be designed to provoke a fight.

Actions that unintentionally cause distress are not considered harassment. For instance, someone who plays loud music and mistakenly thinks that the sound won’t carry has probably not harassed his next-door neighbor.

Method: Helpfulness/Friendly (never seen anyone with this badge)

Examples: 1.) "Jhin, I see a lot of other successive players that don't build armor at all on him." 2.) "Jhin, try not to push the minion wave to far up until we are ready to push, so we don't get ganked as easy." 3.) "Jhin, I am coming to lane to help out, get ready." 4.) "Jhin, max q 1st if you cant quite hit them with w often... and place some wards in this bush" 5.) " Good job on that kill Jhin" 6.) " Great play Jhin" 7.) " Jhin please don't continue to afk/flame/harass/feed or it will cause us to lose and I will report to try to prevent you from doing it to anyone else" (Sometimes being helpful to everyone just cant be helped) 8.) "This is my 1st time as Ahri, can anyone help me with a build/level 1st?" 9.) " I am losing lane guys what should I do?" 10.) " Im 0/7 can support or jungle come help me?"

Counter Examples as it will happen: 1.) Jhin decides to tell you to f off for stealing his kill in bot lane as you jug gank and he dies. 2.)Jhin decides to tell you to f off he knows what hes building anyways 3.) Jhin decides to afk after losing lane hard. 4.) Jhin decides to blame you for everything or someone else.

Pros:

1. You receive no penalty from riot games.
2. Your odds of winning have greatly increased
3. You may of actually taught that player something and maybe they will become better players one day and help others as you did them.
4. If they decided to afk and cuss everyone out just report and the chances of that player receiving action has increased. Thus you have done the world of league of favor in making the community a cleaner place for everyone!
5. You haven't committed a crime.
6. You may make a friend.

Cons:

1. You might get harassed. Just mute and report if you warned them.
2. You still may lose. But in all games 50% of the people will ALWAYS lose 100% of the time no matter how good or how perfect they are at the game. If 10 perfect people played league. 5 of them will still lose.

End thought You may think that bullying and harassment may be the start of the fall of our society being weak. As there are real world problems that easily trump this. You may be right. I may think this way as well. But if your gonna stand up for what you believe in and goto jail for it... because not all laws are just, as history as shown us this many times... maybe... you should think about the pros and cons of your actions. Maybe you should pick your battles and not fight all of them. Pick the smartest route to fight your cause. Leauge of Legends may not be that route.

If you think you can get away with it, if you think its worth it, then go for it. All I can say is good luck. Leave me out of it.
