Why does it seem like matchmaking gets worse the closer to rank 1 of each division you get?

I never really bothered with ranked until two seasons ago, and all three times (this season included), my climb to the rank 1 spot of each division is relatively smooth, but then as I actually get into B1/S1 for example it seems as though I'm deliberately matched with people who pull shit like AP Shyvana mid, tank Ahri APC, as well as autofilled role-hijacking inters, and of course the bot laners who lose within 15 minutes while also snowballing the enemy bot laners.

I'm currently sitting at 7 or 8 losses in a row because of this and I just don't know what to do about this shit because it's honestly just completely out of my control no matter how well I try to do I'm always suffering because of the mistakes and outright stupidity of other people.

i made post about how riot help unworthy people climb and puts them in places where they dont belong. it really hurts our ranking system and players by having them in a rank that they just arnt ready for.

people try hard in rank 1 and don't try at all in rank 5 of the next rank, you get to gamble and see which ones you get

Right, but I keep hearing the same bullshit "oh if you're actually good you'd carry even if your teammates are bad" even though I've been unlucky enough to get a shitty dice roll and get a feedlord Yasuo who snowballs the enemy mid AND jungler who then roam as two and snowball their other laners and suddenly I'm behind and not strong enough to have any kind of impact at all.

Like what am I supposed to do about this? This type of shit happens literally every single time I get to S1, then my LP plummets and I end up demoting and not wanting to play anymore. It's not fun to have all my progress stripped away because I get matched with players I have no business being matched with, and I understand people having bad games, but when it's THIS common I have no other option but to doubt the matchmaking.

i mean that was true years ago when solo carrying was a thing for people who weren't playing like 10+ tiers below their main rank, now it just depends which team gets the player that feeds hardest

Completely true though. Since no one can really solo carry now, the game has shifted from “who is the better player?” To “who is the least bad?”

All it takes is for one person to feed, and suddenly a player on the enemy team is an unstoppable juggernaut that blows up everyone. Then that team stomps regardless of what else happened up to that point.
