Chat restriction for trying to stand up against toxic players?

I don't really care about the chat restriction itself but i do care about the fact that i got punished for I don't know what. I was basically duoing with a friend in botlane and I asked for help, I said something like "hey gragas come bot they're pushed and janna no ult" and garages would respond: "no", "they're not low enough", "muted". Then when i got ganked and died because of it gragas started flaming me for being garbage and feeding for just 1 death. Basically our mid lane Cass and top lane Riven joined in calling me trash and toxic but when they called me toxic is when i never said a word of toxicity. I'll post my comments here and yeah I did say some toxic stuff but thats after they called me toxic. My toxic comments were used to defend myself from the Cass, Riven and Gragas player flaming me. I just want to know did I do anything wrong with trying to refute someone flaming and being toxic to me? I know people can argue that I could've just ignored and muted them but Riot throughout the history of mankind have you ever heard of humans ever being that patient? Do you really think every single human being can "just ignore" while they're being insulted? But yeah this is just my chat log and I just wanted to know if I was being too much that i deserved a punishment

Reason, situation, circumstance, etc do not matter. The only question is did you step over the line or did you not.

Your punishment isn't from standing up against toxic players, it's from standing up against them in the wrong way. Someone broke into your house and robbed you, and when you find out who and where it was later you broken into his/her house to take back your belongings. Needless to say, cops will arrest the both of you. Just because someone violated the laws and offended you doesn't mean you're now allowed to break the laws in however way you deem fit; the proper approach should've been reporting to the police with evidence and let them handle it. They may be incapable and useless, but that's considered the correct approach which you agreed to follow through.

Riot doesn't have the right to judge the right or wrong way to stand up to toxicity. I've had Riot employees themselves actually in a game with me, on my OWN TEAM, and witnessed on 2 seperate occasions, 2 seperate games, 2 seperate Rioters being smartasses, disrespectful, and rude. So uh......I really don't give one single fuck about Riot.

I'm afraid they do, because it's their game, their property. Same reason why you're asked to leave if you step into japanese household with your shoes on even though there's nothing wrong with that in western culture's viewpoint.

Being part of their employment doesn't make them immune to their own rules. If they went unpunished after then you may argue they're corrupted, but how corrupted they are by priviledging their own staff has no relation to this topic.

Here's the thing though, I'd give that household, no matter what culture of family lived there, the same respect I'd give any other. I respect until I'm given reason to believe it either isn't deserved, or is milked. When I first began playing in S3 my views and opinions on the game clearly were nothing how it is now. I took my shoes off when I played league, and I enjoyed it.

However, being personally (and when I say personally I mean from one Riot employee directly to me) disrespected and talked to upon by a Rioter in game chat and having subsequent interactions with Riot support through a ticket also disrespectful I don't feel that personal entitling desire to show respect.

Nothing Riot does will ever prevent me from playing this game. Don't bring up IP bans, because A) They are not going to be implimented B) That's because if they were , IPs change everytime you boot up and can be manipulated manually so it's pointless. I don't own my account or any content on it at any point, and if Riot gets to act disrespectful yet demand I hold myself to a higher standard then they do?

No. I'm going to enjoy my freedom of speech, no matter what. The day Riot sends someone to my front door and kicks my ass is the day I stop playing league. I play it for personal selfish reasons that are entirely different then the ones when I first began playing. This game, Riot, Ten cent, the community, everyone on it, each item and every champ, exist for my sole entertainment.

That's not how freedom of speech works, yo. It only protects against infringement by the government, not by private entities. You click accept on the End User Licence Agreement, so you are bound to Riot's rules.

You clicked agree, which gives them legal grounds to do what they please so long as their actions are outlined by the EULA. In this situation, it means that Riot can enforce their rules by banning you, which means you lose both your account and all the stuff on said account, because according to the EULA, Riot owns all of that and you're basically renting it.

Wonder how Riot is going to stop me. They don't ban me they ban an account. I make a new account I keep playing. Riot has enforced their rules how? I havn't bought Riot Points since S4 , so the only thing I lose when I get banned is. Nothing. I make a new account, I keep playing. I get banned. I make another one. Riot is powerless it amuses me how you stand up and defend Riot like they can do anything. They can't.

Okay, so, what? You make a string of new accounts? Go ahead. If you continue to exhibit inappropriate behavior you'll get banned again, make a new account, rinse and repeat? If you're alright with losing time and/or money with each ban, then yeah, they can't do very much.

Yes. Exactly. I have fun. I keep getting new Hextech Chests, and I get to talk to kids like you anyway I want with no fear of any kind of resourse or consequence. I don't lose time, since anytime spent playing this game is called a "Time Sink" I am spending my time. Money? Lol. Money? You think I spend MONEY on this game? DO YOU REALLY?

Personally, I don't flame in response to my team bitching, but I just have less fun in games once they do it. So for me, the first time I see something fairly negative, it's just a quick mute. Usually I'll combine this with saying something like, "If you need something, Riven, just ping", so that player knows not to try to set up plays over chat.

But the game is more fun without the negativity. So just mute at the first sign. You'll probably win more games for it too.

Standing up for myself is how I got a 25 game chat restriction (that I fed arams on til it was done). Riot doesn't care about feeders, yet when it comes to someone standing up for themselves or getting really angry n a game, they immediately restrict you from their pay to win system..

Yeah the basic deal seems to be they can say or do anything they want - you have to report them and until now, reports pretty much weren't looked at. If you say a single word back though you're reported likely en masse and that'll end your run of good behavior.

Saddest part is that those kinds of people have tons of smurfs so they can just go right back to playing afterward.

Multiple reports carry the same exact weight as a single report. Mass reporting does not effect your likelihood of being punished. You can respond to trolls as long as you're not toxic. They can report you all they want but if you behave you'll be fine. However, you should not respond to trolls because it's what they want. They crave attention. Don't give it to them.

I got the same thing, I got called a F****T as well as C**T but because I was using it as deflection to stand up against it. I too got reported. I'm going to assume that RIOT generally just uses flags on certain words and then states that its against the rules regardless if it's reviewed or not.

This is from a 10 game chat ban. Really means nothing as I just play ARAM but still, its annoying to see that I'm using the term for sticks and getting flagged. Lovely RIOT for being lazy on that check.
